They work great. They really hold my screens in place, easy to get out for cleaning and easy to reinstall.

Packaged all together and springs all caught together. After spending 10 extra minutes to get them apart the install went easily.

The end of the pin that fits into the window frame is a little large for the groove in my window but it still fits well enough to hold the screens!A great product but check the size of the space in the window frame where the pins fit!

When I first got them, I wasn't sure how they worked. After staring at them for about 15 minutes, I realized they were simple to apply. I really liked the metal post, because the plastic ones always cracked in time (~5 to 10 years). The other design piece I liked about them is the dimension was a little smaller than the plastic ones, so they were easy to pull out after having one side of the screen off.

I bought these pins to replace a 5 cent (or cheaper) nylon pin that managed to securely fasten lightweight window flyscreens for decades - but it seems that nobody sells the nylon pins anymore because eventually they deteriorate and break. So, after much searching, instead of spending 10 cents replacing two broken pins I purchased this item for about $20.00.It is magnificently engineered and does a great job! If you use it to replace a nylon pin you will need to re-drill the screen holes to fit it and then re-drill the mounting point hole, because it will also be too small to take this slightly larger pin. A glaring example of the KISS principle.Alternately, you could save a lot of time and money and find someone who has a stock of the cheap nylon pins that worked quite ok for decades.

The aluminum pins in these screen latches are much sturdier than the plastic pins that came with my screens, making it easier to jiggle the screens into place without fear of snapping the fragile plastic bits. They are very easy to install, as long as they're the right size for your screen and window frame. One person can manage it without help. Here's how:1. Remove any broken bits from old latches. You don't need to remove the old springs, they'll just slide out of the way inside the screen frame).2. Slide the spring onto the narrower end of the pin.3. Starting at the outer edge of the screen frame, insert the pin (notched end first) and spring through the outer hole in the screen frame (this hole is large enough to fit the spring through, while the smaller inner hole blocks the spring from going all the way through).4. Slide the end of the pin through the inner hole.5. Snap on the plastic end. This is the only step that's at all difficult. You have to push the plastic end onto the notched end of the aluminum pin with enough force to click it into place while blocking the pin from pushing back out. Just block the outside of the pin with anything stiff...a bit of cardboard or plastic will do. It doesn't take much force to push the plastic end into place.
