Worth the price

I have a male Paradise Betta. I bought these and he can't eat them. I believe they are too large. I ordered some micro pellets from a different manufacturer and he gobbles them right up. I don't know if this applies to all Bettas but that's been my experience. I had to toss them in the trash. Live and learn I guess.

My betta fish loves this food and they do seem to have improved his color. The pellets are a bit large, however, so it takes him a while to eat. It could be helpful to soak the pellet for a bit before feeding it to your fish. It is worth it, though, for the high-quality ingredients at a low price. The bottles are each filled to the brim which is impressive, but makes it difficult to retrieve the first few pellets without spilling, so be careful!

When something says “micro” I expect it to be very, very small. My Beta is still a baby and these pellets are the same size as “small” sized pellets I have previously purchased from Tetra. If you buy your Beta as a baby, these will be bigger than their face and it’s hard for them to eat. I’ll save for when she is bigger but I still need to find even smaller food so she will eat.

I breed bettas “fancy” bettas and currently have 50+ food tasters. I would say 30/50 enjoy the taste and get excited about them, from the other 20, 15 eat them because that’s all they have and the other 5 prefer fasting or maybe taking 1 and waiting for the next mealtime. They seem like quality pellets, I like the ingredients, don’t love that they have copper in them because I keep mystery snails with some and I prefer avoiding copper foods (although they won’t get poisoned as easily as some think), and they feces get thicker and keep the bright redish brown of the pellet, so more waste to consider. Lastly, they are too large to call them micro pellets, they are smaller than some pellets available, but their are twice the size of the usually commercial micro size; this for me is a problem because not all babies can easily take them, they do bite them and “play” with them and eventually take them little by little, but it may be a shocking hazzard. Despite my negative notes, I would recommend them for adults over many other brands out there, but maybe buy a single pack to start with. Over all foods, I would say the best complete diet is a variation of dehydrated or freezed-dried bloodworms, shrimp and brine shrimp.
