I had a Ryzen 7 2700x before and when it came time to replace that power hungry cpu, I chose the 5600x instead. I don't really bother with overclocking anything anymore and the 65w was a better (Hydro fee) deal than another 130w cpu.Performance wise, it's definitely faster and better than the Ryzen 7 2700x. The energy efficiency is also a big plus for me. I've been using it for 8 months and I haven't had an issue with it. Price wise too, it's definitely cheaper than my Ryzen 7 2700x. It's done well enough for me that when I need to build another computer for my son, I'd use this same CPU in it.

This cpu works very well, i get a decent amount of fps on the games i play. Only issue i had was the cpu cooler, it was my very first time building a pc and the cooler comes with thermalpaste already applied. I was really struggling to screw the cooler onto my motherboard, one screw just wouldn’t align itself correctly. it’s a disaster to screw it but i’ve read online you have to apply more strength. I kept trying and i ended up taking the cooler off because i couldn’t get it to fit and the cpu ended up coming off with it. The thermalpaste that comes preapplied is very strong and my cpu was stuck to my cooler. To get it off i used a hairdryer to heat it and with a blade i was able to get it off without bending any pins (miracle) The cpu is great but i had lots of issues with the cooler. I wish i would’ve taken pictures but i was way too stressed in the moment.

I was looking to update my gen 1 ryzen system which was unable to update to windows 11 without work arounds. This processor let me update my otherwise functional system for the best value and the easiest install vs going am5.Maybe I hit the lottery or maybe it's my old wraith spire cooler but my cpu benchmarks @97% has been completely stable with the minimal overclocked I'm running and I've noticed the system seems to run cooler and quieter since the update.

Yes Amd4 is slowly reaching its limit but you can get great power for the money with this processor. Bought it for my gaming pc and I can play any game without lag and everything is very responsive.

After using an old 4th gen i7, I was finally ready for an upgrade. This cpu is flawless. Exceeded my expectations completely, runs very cool during stress tests at stock settings with the included cooler, never exceeded 80c. Definitely consider this if you are looking for a serious upgrade.

For 6 years, my CPU was a Ryzen 5 1600X. It still did pretty decently, but needless to say, I needed to upgrade badly. The Ryzen 5 5600X is definitely what I needed. It runs way hotter than the 1600X though. Temps are usually in the 40s at idle and reaching up to 81c so far when I game.At first, I thought I had caused this by messing up with the thermal paste. I had a lot of difficulty screwing in the fan and I had to slide it around to get it in the right spots, so I got scared that I scraped off some paste in the process.Turns out, It's......... just a very hot CPU. This is common. You can safely go to 95c.I read that there's a setting called "Precision Boost Overdrive" that basically runs an overclock automatically and that turning it off in BIOS will help lower the temps. I haven't done that yet, but I may if temps go higher. All the games I've thrown at it run much better with no issues. Videos render much quicker too. And my PC's performance is much more stable. All in all, I can't complain. Good price for great performance.

Snagged this cpu for like 130 or 140 CAD..Can't quite remember but I'm beyond happy with the performance for the low price. Great upgrade for anyone with AM4 socket motherboard who doesn't want to move onto the next gen yet. This CPU will definitely still be capable for several more years as it's speed is great and AMD is still supporting AM4 chipsets for the foreseeable future.

After running an FX-8350 and a 4th generation i7 for a long time, I finally broke down and upgraded to this CPU and 32GB 3600 DDR4 RAM. I just put the system together, and am still running an R9 280 GPU, so won't expect miracles just yet, but have run several benchmarks, and of course everything comes out much higher. The stock fan is OK, and doesn't get too loud even running extended benchmarks. but the CPU reached 77.2 degrees Celsius while running at 100% for 10 minutes in a case with good cooling in a 20 degree room.I'm not going to race out and buy a new fan any time soon as I don't run it anywhere near 100 % regularly, but will eventually get a cheap tower cooler.I can't afford the newest and the best, but this is pretty new, and very good, and was inexpensive.I'm happy I bought it.
