As a fleet diesel mechanic, this Astro set has quickly become one of my favorite go-to tools. These extra deep sockets save a ton of time when you’re dealing with long studs, recessed bolts, or anything buried where a standard deep socket just won’t cut it.Build Quality & Design:The sockets are solid. They’ve taken some real abuse and still hold up without rounding off. The extra length (about 4.75 inches) is perfect for those awkward spots—especially when you’re trying to get to things like turbo studs, EGR bolts, or sensor nuts in tight engine bays.Functionality:I’ve used these mostly for diesel work, but they’d be useful in just about any shop. The 6-point design grips strong, and I’ve had zero issues with slipping. The set runs from 8mm to 17mm with no skips, which is exactly what you want.Overall:If you do a lot of diesel or heavy line work, these are a huge help.
