Love these jars! I use them for daily for all beverages esp when I set a farmhouse table theme. Not just for canning! My friends have now done the same.

Ran one in my pressure cooker for 4 hours at 15 bar (or psi?) and it did not explode. Also using to store roasted coffee. Nice jars, good value.

I use Ball pint sized (16 oz.) mason jars for leftovers, canning, storage - a little of everything in my house. I have probably 200 Ball branded jars in all sorts of sizes, but the one I use the most is the pint size jar (followed by the now-discontinued pint and a half sized jar) because it allows me to store in serving sizes that are perfect for my husband and me.I typically buy wide mouth jars for two reasons: 1) it is easier to fill leftovers into the wider mouth and 2) I use a FoodSaver brand jar sealer attachment to suck air out of jars, allowing the food to stay fresh longer The regular mouth jar sealer doesn’t consistently seal tightly but the wide mouth one does.Regardless, I have use for regular mouth jars: I freeze homemade spaghetti sauce and I can homemade soup and jellies/jams. I think that these jars work equally great for that purpose as wide mouth jars. This listing is for a set of 8 jars. The quality of the glass, lids and bands is exactly the same as the 12-pack where the jars are placed in a cardboard tray with plastic wrap cling. These lids do work as advertised in keeping food fresh and the lids keeping a tight seal after canning for a long time (specification is for 18 months but I haven’t had any fail — even the jars that are years old — provided that I performing the canning correctly. The only difference with this 8-pack of jars is that they are packaged for keeping them intact - you are getting peace of mind with lots of extra cardboard packaging totally surrounding each jar.I love that you are pretty much guaranteed to get jars that haven’t broken in shipment. However, as I said, I have hundreds of jars and haven’t had a broken one yet, so I am not sure I would pay extra for the packaging.5/5 for the high quality of the jars with lids and bands, but I am subtracting a star since this isn’t a great value.
