First I bought a cheaper unit from Amazon which failed to work half the time. Then I purchased this one and I use it to connect two computer with one monitor and keyboard/moise. I haven’t had any issue for about 3 months.

I have two monitors, and wanted one to be able to be shared with my work laptop and the other one to be just for home, so that when i was not working I could have the dual monitors. I had just bought and then returned a different brand of one of these because it could not for some reason display the signal from my desktop (using a 4070) to a 3440x1440 monitor. But this one worked. Came with all the necessary cables. One of the USB A > USB A cables even came with the adapter in case you only have USB C on one of your PCs.

This is a fairly decent (albeit somewhat basic) 2-port KVM switch with HDMI ports as both input and output so it can NOT work with DisplayPort at all (some laptops only have DP ports). Converters (as input) should work but I haven't tried 'em. It supports HDMI 2.1 with a max resolution of 8K@60Hz which is nice although I don't have any 8K@60Hz displays to test it with; nonetheless it works just fine with 4K@60Hz without any issues during the test.Similar to most other KVMs now on the market, it has a bit of delay during the switching process so just keep that in mind. Unlike many others though, this one supports USB 3.0 rated at 5 Gbps which is decent but far from great; however, it should be more than adequate for low-bandwidth peripherals such as keyboard or mouse etc and 5 Gbps HDD/SSD USB 3.0 docks if you have 'em. The lack of 10 Gbps USB-A ports or even USB-C ports means this is not designed for systems with modern external storage systems such as NVMe enclosures (but I digress). In addition, the switching process is a bit flakey (somewhat common to many other KVMs though) and doesn't always work (i.e. not being detected properly) at first but subsequent switch usually works just fine.≡ NoteThe use of USB-C or DP to HDMI adapter/converter appears to work (as inputs); however, they don't always work (i.e. intermittent) and I'm not sure if they are actually supported or not because it's not documented anywhere. In addition, I also dunno if it will work with all adapters out (e.g. HDMI/DP adapter) there so you might wanna confirm with the seller first if that's something you are interested in.For those who are new to KVM, it stands for Keyboard, Video, and Monitor (KVM) and it allows for the sharing of those 3 devices (traditionally) so you can use the same K/V/M to control 2 computers by switching between the 2 computers. You can NOT control both computers at the same time and that would be nonsensical. This is particularly useful in tight spaces where you don't have space for a second set of K/V/M especially the monitor which traditionally occupies a large spare (i.e. CRT monitors) and they can still be with LEDs. As a matter of fact, I still have some old KVMs with PS/2 ports with mini DIN6 connector.≡ Spec* Input: 2x HDMI female, 2x USB-A (USB 3.0, 5 Gbps)* Output: 1X HDMI female, 4x USB-A (USB 3.0, 5 Gbps)* Bandwidth: HDMI 2.1 @ 48 Gbps* Resolution: 8K@60Hz (with DCS, otherwise, it's limited to 8K@30Hz/4K@144Hz)* Built-in C-clamp* Aluminum alloy/ABSOne of the most interesting features of this KVM is undoubtedly the built-in C-clamp and it's one of the primary reasons for the order; unfortunately, it's really NOT as useful as I thought it would and the fact it's part of the aluminum frame actually makes it less versatile and larger than necessary if I don't use the c-clamp because it essentially doubles the size/dimension of the KVM.It would be a lot better if the c-clamp can be removed from the KVM or perhaps somehow folded down if it's not be used so they can be more easily attached to somewhere else. For the moment, I actually have it attached to the underside of my desk via adhesive hook/loop fasteners because my particular setup make it undesirable to have it attached to the edge of the desk.I should also mention that one of the biggest downside of this is the lack of remote (or a switch/button extension) that most others have nowadays. The remote makes it that much easier and convenient to switch between the hosts. Of course, hotkeys would also work but it's not supported and it's less versatile than a remote since it may interfere with other apps/systems.≡ ValueAll things considered, this is a fairly decent albeit somewhat basic 2-port HDMI 2.1 KVM switch that supports 8K@30 (or 8K@60Hz if DSC is supported) and USB 3.0/5 Gbps; however, it does NOT come with a remote and 5 Gbps is relatively slow by today's standard especially if I wanna use NVMe enclosures; 5 Gbps just won't cut it. The built-in C-clamp is a nice feature although it becomes a nuisance for me since I can't use it with my particular setup. It is reasonably priced at $36 for what it provides and its overall build quality, features, usability, and performance. There are plenty of other options and/or alternatives out there that come with a remote if that's something you wanna consider. Your mileage might vary.

I ordered it as a replacement for a previous one which had a touchy button. After a couple of days this seems better quality. For my point of view this is more something that you will / have to screw onto a screen.Feels less Handy to leave on a desk but that just personal.Switches seaminless between 2 pcs, with 1 click taking all usb and hdmi cables along.
