Holy Crap, this is a fantastic bit. It works well and is a STEAL at this price. The teeth really are carbide, so it should stay sharp for darn near forever. The countersink depth is easily adjustable and leaves a sharp clean cut. Here's the downside (if you can call it that), if you hold the bit down hard when it bottoms out at the stop the Teflon (?) ring will smooth the wood just a smidge and it will look like it left a ring around the countersink hole. Now, if you plug the countersunk hole and sand off flush it will remove the smoothed surface the ring left. So there really is no downside. The case is an unexpected touch of class too. Very nice product. Pick one up and you'll love it too.

I'd been considering the Amana countersink bit for a long time, usually when in the middle of a project where I could have used it. The need was never often enough to justify the price, and I would just make do with regular countersinks and do my best to keep the depth consistent. (It almost never was)For $10 I was willing to take a chance on this one and I'm extremely happy that I did! I can't compare it with the Amana, but from my experience so far there is no reason I will. If anything, my weakness is misplacing these things so I'm far more likely to buy a second one of these instead.It also comes with a sturdy enough case that stores the bit and hex key securely and can be hung on a hook or pegboard, which so far has helped me keep track of it.It was out of stock when I purchased it and I had to wait about 5 weeks. The wait was absolutely worth it and I would do it again in a heartbeat.Hopefully as more people find out about this the price stays reasonable. If I needed to replace it and it went up a couple of dollars I wouldn't question it. If it ever ends up over $15 I would probably go with the name brand at that point.If this was how I made my living, and I wanted longevity I would have already owned the Amana bit. I can't speak for the longevity of it but I've heard nothing but great things from others. Time will only tell with this one, but for the casual weekend hobby woodworker it is a no-brainer. Even if I were a professional I would definitely grab a few of these as backups, or to have a few preset depths for any kind of repetitive work .

This is the best countersink bit I've tried yet. Very easy to adjust to the depth you want and drills the countersink with ease.
