Unless you know exactly what you’re doing, don’t buy this product. The most popular 9 pin is a serial port, which cannot be converted to VGA. I know most of you here are probably looking to do this, same as me.

After testing this product to determine its wiring, it looks like this just wires DB9 pins 1,2 and 3 (customarily, Ground/NC/Red) up to DB15 pins 1,2 and 3 (customarily, Red/Green/Blue), which will not provide a usable signal on any legacy DB9 RGB displays or interfaces, as far as I am aware (the RGB pins are 3,4 and 5, and not 1,2 and 3, on legacy CGA, EGA and Extron/Sony/Etc. DB9 RGB interfaces). Consequently, I do not believe the product to have been produced in good faith. But the fact that it has "RS232" in its title should maybe give that away, since it has nothing to do with RS232 save that RS232 is a wholly unrelated protocol which happens to sometimes use a DB9 connector. Calling something a "VGA" to "RS232" adapter is like calling something a "Composite Video" to "Ethernet" adapter. Those are both things that travel along wires as electricity. But that's all they have in common.

Arrived early. Item is as described. Clicks into place and has screw options as well.Note: 9 pin ports cannot be changed to 15 pin to connect another monitor. Im not super tech savvy & wasnt until I got this peice and tried to connect I realized its not compatible.
