Using modular adapters with inexpensive silver satin or flat oval twisted pair wire has become a standard way to run client server applications. Needing to connect dumb terminals on the desktop back to a central patch panel or directly to a MUX via RS-232, many network planners have implemented modular adapters as the most cost-effective way to complete the connections. Whether used in a wiring closet or throughout the office, color-coded modular adapters lend easy identification and differentiation to your cable plan.

I bought 7 of these adapters. I've put similar items together many times over the last 13 years for work, so I was pretty confused when I couldn't get these to go together. The head unit would not snap into the base shell. After considerable frustration, I dismantled one of them to confirm my suspicion. The head unit is actually too big to fit into the shell. I suspect that the thickness of the plastic and taper of the shell was never considered when pairing these two pieces together. All 7 of them had the exact same problem.I did NOT contact the seller. These were purchased as a backup solution for a customer, and after trying them out, we devised a 3rd solution that worked out. In the end, the low price of the adapters, and that we'd already written them off as an expense, made returning them a bigger hassle than it was worth. So the electronics recycler has them now. It's a shame because usually C2G has given me good cables; this one was just a bust.If the seller review this and makes the corrects it on their side, I'm happy to edit this review.
