Silicone withstands temperatures up to 500 degrees F, resists stains and odors, and is dishwasher safe. Color is red to denote use for high-heat cooking applications. A molded-in hanging hook on the handle grabs bowl or pan edges to keep the brush from sliding in. This holds up to high heat well. I use it to baste melted butter with it and works great.

Perfect! My grandma wanted an extra wide silicone brush for Christmas and I couldn't find one anywhere else! This one is three inches wide and looks just like the picture. It wasn't supposed to arrive until days after Christmas but it showed up two days before! Excellent product, my grandma will love it!
