These were very easy to add to standard 5 gallon buckets for watering chickens. I have two & the chickens took right to them. (Remember a 5 gallon bucket weighs about 40 lbs if you need to haul it somewhere to fill it) One thing to note is that the feeding ports need to go on a FLAT surface so I needed a square bucket/tote (I just bought a tote with a clasp handle top to keep any possible critters OUT & to keep the chickens from knocking the top off) so the ports would sit flush. Again no issues, chickens aren’t picky. I do have both the watering & feeder on elevated stands otherwise they were too low for the chickens to get into the feeding ports (and maximize the amount consumed from either container) Overall, I am very pleased, this also came with the drill & circle hole punch that attach to an ordinary drill head. Pretty good deal for someone just getting started with chickens. Highly recommended. Side note!!! this watering system WILL freeze up if you live somewhere where freezing is an issue. The little red cups fill by gravity & the hole to fill it is small (which is great the chickens cannot make a mess with it) I live in Michigan so by about mid November I needed to switch to my heated waterer to keep the water available to my chickens.
