These liners fit the bucket insert of the standard commode I recently ordered perfectly. The bags initially seemed a bit light-weight to me but they are actually durable enough for the intended purpose. I like that the fluid-absorbing sheet is already in the bag, so there is nothing to do except place the liner in the bucket and tuck it under the rim. Disposal is easy and mess-free. The ribbon running around the perimeter of the liner has those exposed tabs that can be used to pull up on the bag and cinch it closed making the job hands-free. Like other reviewers, I have tested the liners with water. The absorbent sheet really does hold quite a bit of fluid and converts it into a gel, so the bag can be just placed in the trash with none of the fuss of transporting the bucket to the bathroom to dump the contents and then cleaning it out. As these have haven't been used under real-life conditions, I can't comment on whether they are completely odor-free (I would imagine they would need to be sealed in some way). I also haven't tried any other brands, so I have nothing to compare these to but I think they work well and I'm certainly very happy to have found them.

I don't have a commode, but I do have a bucket...These pre-packaged commode liners with absorbent pad sets are handy and work as described. The bags are a great fit for a standard 3 or 5 gallon bucket often used for camping toilets and can be snugged in place (and later tied shut) with a drawstring closure tab. Each liner has an absorbent pad already inside, making set-up quick and easy. The pads are made of a polymer and, when mixed with water, should dissolve into a gel that absorbs all the water, leaving only solidified waste to dispose of.A few other reviews noted that the pads didn't seem very absorbent, so of course, I tested it out in my kitchen (because testing at camp is a very bad idea). I first added two cups of water (16 oz) to a bag, then slid a pad in. Within a minute or so, the pad swelled up and had absorbed all the liquid. I gave it a few minutes to settle and then added another 8 oz of water, for a total of 24 oz. This time, the water settled to the bottom of the bag, and the top portion of the lump that used to be the pad stayed dry-ish, but after a couple shakes, the water was all absorbed again. I see the description notes that pads can hold up to 32 oz but mine appeared to be at its limits and was now just loose gelled material, so I didn't test further. For actual use in a commode, the pad lying flat may absorb better and more evenly but I still would probably be a bit skeptical beyond 24 oz.I like that the product comes paired with a pad in each bag, but I don't know that 1:1 is the ratio I use. I normally purchase pads separately and have been to use more than one per bag, which is not an option with this particular version. I think my total cost for bags and pads purchased separately might be slightly less, especially because my use doesn't necessarily require commode-sized bags, but the combined cost of these little sets is reasonable for the convenience (and still less than the bag/gel combos marketed specifically to campers). I would still pack extra pads, though, unless you plan on going through these rather quickly.
