This is a great amp I put it in a secrets tin and made a custom solution for my boys PC. Wired it to 5 v usb end. 3.5 mm audio end to PC. 100 uses I'd imagine. Be a great replacement for a set of good PC speakers.

My Bluetooth speaker kicked the bucket not too long ago and was able to salvage the speakers and housing, along with the battery. This amplifier board works just as well as the original one that the speaker had inside, and actually sounds pretty darn good. It can deliver it's rated 5 watts of power with some headroom to spare which is nice.

If you are working with those 4W 3Ohm DIY speakers, this is exactly what you need for your project. The board does a great job at amplifying sounds; especially, if you are particularly working with treble.Although the board did a fantastic job amplifying treble, I wasn't particularly impressed with the bass amplification. I compared it to another amplifier I own (3.7V board), and it underperformed significantly. The board was easy to use, and did not require any soldering. I was able to clamp in the wires and use it right away.Overall, I think it is a great board if you plan on using it for anything other than music. When it came to amplifying voices, it was really fantastic. I recommend giving it a try.

Check out the datasheet for the PAM8406.Example of expected volume:~98dB/SPL max at 1meter...with 2x90dB SPL @1watt @1meter 8ohm speakers (consumer speakers usually aren't so efficient)powered with 1.6watts each @1%distortionI suggest at least a 2.5amp power supply to leave a little headroom there.Driving a two way monitor in a test, things sounded perfectly clear. The PAM8406 datasheet suggests perfectly acceptable and impressively low noise and crosstalk. This thing is adorably small. I love how cheap audio electronics manufacturing has gotten.

Wasn't expecting much quality with my cheap little speakers but it actually sounds decent and is able to crank more volume than I even need. Worked the first time I wired it up...that never happens. Then again that is probably more of a "me" thing.

10 watts total. It’s the beast in tiny box. Just make sure to provide enough power supply to it. Sound is good. No soldering to connect it. Good for any small project with sound.
