No instructions came with it. That is my only complaint.

Very straightforward encoding for the Arduino while supported library functions very well. I wish the color coating of the wires were more uniform does not work well in buildings.

I'm using this unit with a Teensy 3.2 using Serial1. The results seem not too different than cheaper units with passive antennas. See my image of the GPS unit sitting on my desk and recording GPS coordinates every second for 90 minutes. The red plot is this BN-880 unit (Active antenna) the purple plot is the same setup but with a different unit that has a passive antenna. The difference you see is typical for these units. I'm hoping more testing with a moving GPS sensor will get better results that passive filters. The added compass may help some people. The unit seems to power up very fast when hot, like To get this unit workingPinsGPS TeensyWhite GNDYellow 3v3Green RxRed TxInstall TinyGPSPlus (TinyGPS will NOT read altitude and other items). Note TinyGPSPlus has more/better methods to determine valid data. The FullExample.ino is a fine place to start but make sure you change the baud rate in the ino to 9600. And note to use Teensy hardware serial and NOT softwareserial.

No real problems with this unit as I have installed several before. Wish the LED was in a different location. This model is now somewhat dated as newer protocols are out

Got this for my FPV drone and it works really well! Make sure the TX out from the GPS is hooked up to the RX input on the Flight controller!Pros:Outside it gets anywhere from 11 to 17 Satellites in bc, inside it even gets gps lock at 5 satellitesCons:its a little larger than other GPS modules like the BN-220. so a custom 3d Printed TPU mount or just double side tape it to the top deck works fine

The BN-880 arrived fast. The BN-880 is not the version I was hoping for that has the flash RAM. It is the ROM version. I connected it to the ublox u-center and it indicates the ROM version with no flash possible. Will not accept the selection of the BDS satellites in the u-center configuration. Does not track the 3 GNSSs like it states for an M8 series, such as GPS, GLONASS, Galileo. Most always defaults to 2 GNSSs, GPS and GLONASS for tracking. Used Stellarium to see if the Galileo and BDS satellites where low on the horizon and they were not. Images from the u-center data using the BN-880 indoors and version. Internal. Does acquire satellites pretty fast on a cold start. I did return the item.

Using it with my SAMD21G board from Sparkfun, seems to be working great.

If your running a quad with iNav then this is the GPS unit you need as it also has a compass unit (magnetometer). Of coarse there are also other application this unit can be employed in such as a handheld Arduino GPS/Compass project or let you creativity wander to new realms. Find you direction!

When you first use this, or are flying a place you've never been before, it can take around 5 minutes to get the 8 satellites, but the next battery it locks onto the satellites within a few seconds. I wanted to get my speed with this but it will also be very helpful in finding a lost quad if that ever happens. I haven't tried the return to home. It seems like really experienced pilots have had trouble getting that feature to work properly so I doubt I've figured it out. I hope I never have to find out, but if I do have to try it and it fails, I'll have the longitude and Latitude to go find the thing. $20 is a really cheap insurance policy to protect several hundred dollars worth of equipment. If you crash and lose a $400 quad with a $400 GoPro on it, you'll wish you had spent the $20 on this. When you plug in the first time it will flash 0 Satellites and 0.000000 for your GPS coordinates. After a minute or two it will start giving the GPS coordinates but still flash 0 Satellites. If you arm and fly at this point it will flash something about no RTH function. After 5 minutes it will start listing satellites. Once you have 8, you're good to go.

Nice little device for the price. Easy to setup and very accurate.

Spend the little bit extra and get this one. It has an active antenna instead of a passive one. It was taking 10-15 mins with the BN-180 to get a cold fix. This one gets a cold fix under a minute. Unreal the difference. It might be slightly larger, but well worth it for peace of mind for my drone.
