My other new MEROCA GXP BB purchased a few months ago here have a bit of a play when my crank is at 3 and 9 o'clock position. I removed the BB and inspected again the bearings. True enough, I felt the bearings also have a play.This DJC BB arrived yesterday and upon inspection of the bearing, it felt tight and smooth, no looseness on the bearing cups and cone, thus, this BB is way much better than the MEROCA brands. I will consider the quality and craftsmanship of this DJC BB at par in terms to quality and build against the TRUVATIVE GXP BB, this DJC BB is economically priced as well. After installing this, my crankset is now spinning smooth and no play/wobble at different angles or the crank arms. I might buy another set as my back-up. My bike is also used for virtual riding during the cold months.

The spacers are plastic and broke within a couple hours of riding. Not a problem if you won’t need them, but if you do, keep the ones from the unit you’re replacing.

So, let's be clear. This does not replace a square taper bottom bracket (has an axle as part of the bracket). This doesn't work with all Hollowtech cranks, such as my GRX RS600 or ProWheel, since at least mine are Pressfit. Unfortunately, this means I lack the bike to fit this bottom bracket 😉 It seems well constructed and smooth, though I won't be able to post any long-term update at this time, since I can't really use it. I give myself 80% of the blame for that, but I do feel the listing could do a better job, specifically listing the models of Shimano, SRAM, and Campi at least that DO work with it. Also, would be nice if they added a note on tools required (crank wrench, with 16 notches?, 44mm?).
