This worked without any fiddling on Windows 10 with RTSystems software to program my FT-8900R. Attached the cable & allowed Windows to find the driver. Recommended.

After much searching of the Internet, I found an old copy of 'detect_ftdi_clone.py' and updated it for Python3. The DSD TECH SH-RS232A passed all of its tests.I was initially hesitant to make the purchase after ordering a Sabrent CB-FTDI (USB to male DB-9 with thumbscrews) and receiving a SBT-FTDI (USB to male DB-9 with female hexnuts) that I couldn't use, but I received the correct DSD cable with thumbscrews. I'll be ordering more of these DSD TECH cables!USB Class: 0xFF as expected, does not support Communications Device Class (CDC)Serial number: appears valid (will need to compare with another cable to decide if unique)EEPROM checksum: correct16-bit aligned EEPROM writes: fails as expected (FTDI only supports 32-bit aligned EEPROM writes)Max Windows 8.1 bit rate: 921600 (driver seems to do multiples of 225)

I used this USB to Serial cable between by amateur radio transceiver and my computer so that the computer software can control the radio. Windows 10 recognized the cable and installed the driver automatically. All I had to do was look in Device Manager to see what Com port number was assigned and configure the software to use that port. It worked!

Absolutely brilliant. Worked 1st time with my older RS232 9 pin serial equipment, where nothing else would. I only ever could get my various instruments working with a real PCI PC card. Now i can use a USB Windows 10 laptop. Most excellent!

works like a charm. simply had to FTDI website and get driver and - that was it. and i really like that cable is longer and softer than on my other converters.

Works great - lots of my older USB-Serial adaptors (both Prolific and FTDI) stopped working when I upgraded to Mojave. These work great. No driver needed - OSX understands them out of the box, they show up as expected and work fine.

I bought this cable to replace my older cable with the prolific chipset which does not work on windows 10.This cable works on windows 10 and also on Mac. The best part is no driver is require when I was using both wins10 and Mac.
