Watched Linus Tech Tips POV PC build video and had my static strap on the power supply (turned off but plugged in) and built my PC on carpet flooring. PC works but probably was not the best idea. You can attach the strap to the case itself I hear instead

The ESD wrist straps are very good and the internal resistance is close to the recommended 1Mohm value.

There are a lot of 1 star reviews complaining about these not having continuity. These people aren't wrong, but they don't understand how these ESD bracelets are supposed to function. I measure 1M ohm from the contact point to the banana plug on each of these. This allows them to discharge tens of thousands of volts (typical ESD/static voltage) safely in under a second without presenting a shock and electrocution hazard to the wearer. Anyone who is working on equipment, especially if it's powered or plugged in, and who shorts themselves to ground is placing themselves in needless, potentially lethal danger.The bracelets are flimsy and the wires are flimsy and will probably stretch and fail, but they are an undeniable value for money and work for the intended purpose.

I wear this while sleeping, while on the computer, and while laying in bed watching TV. Why? Because I suffer from chronic inflammation from over 50 years of physical trauma. Tried every diet including the carnivore diet to lessen the symptoms. Diet has helped; however, grounding is essential for acute inflammatory flare ups such as what occurs during my weekly one-day (36-hour) water fasts. Because this little device has been so incredibly helpful in reducing acute inflammation, I recently bought a grounding sheet for my bed to use with this device.

OK, I learned that an anti-static strap SHOULD have high resistance to it. A continuity meter is NOT an accurate way to test this. My Ohmmeter only measures up to 4M Ohm. I cracked one open and found a 7.6M Ohm resistor, which is quite high, but I believe would be adequate for anti-static purposes.
