It is great - plain and simple. I like using an inexpensive hood to protect the lens from drops and some shade.

This item was less than half the price of the OEM Canon Lens hood, but it doesn't fit on the specified lens. It is too tight when attempting to mount it in the forward position (it is not possible to turn it to the point it should click to lock). It is too loose when reversed for storage and protection of the lens.Will be ordering the Canon OEM product.
