Replaced a Natural Sound amplifier with this mini-amplifier in order to save space. At first, I expected to be disappointed because I loved my old receiver but the audio quality is even crisper than that one. If you're afraid of the sound quality not being great, I have very expensive bookshelf speakers and they sound crystal clear with this amplifier.

First, I’d like to point out I’m not audiophile. My hearing was damaged a long time ago during my teenage years attending multiple live events. Front row at the White Stripes concert will do that to you. I regret my carelessness in not wearing earplugs. I also regret listening to my Aiwa Walkman at loud volumes for many many years.I was looking for a small amplifier to power my Energy bookshelf speakers. The advertise specs of 300 watts x2 power is a bit of a bait, a joke as one might say. 300 watts is possible only with a 48v, 10A power supply on a 4 ohm load. The majority will be running 8 ohm speakers, with the 5A power supply, it will push 115 watts per channel which is more than enough. I prefer companies who under rate their products. Under promise, over deliver is something I live by.The packaging was adequate, but I didn’t care for the box design. HiFi Made Fun and Home Audio Expert written on the box seems cheap and amateurish. I would suggest all black, no wavy design, no slogan, only Fosi Audio written in plain white text. Make it simple just like the design of the actual amp itself. Inside the box, the amp and the power supply were arranged neatly with adequate foam protection. The best part of the amp is the sound. Upon turning on the amp, no pops, no hiss can be heard, absolute silence, like death. Good so far, I loaded Pink Floyd the dark side of the moon album and my jaw dropped. Ok I get it. I get the hype. This is it. The sound, the tasteful simplicity, no tone control. Turning the volume knob to the max doesn’t distort. It only comes alive with the sound of music. Very impressive and highly recommended.

Don't believe the 300 watt claims of the manufacturer. (I don't know why they just don't rate the amp with RMS real world specs). Still the Fosi Audio V3 is an excellent amplifier when paired with the optional 48V power supply, although it increases the cost. With the supplied stock power supply, the amp can deliver about 30 watts of real power and with the 48V power supply it can deliver about 80 watts of unadulterated bliss. The sound is clean with absolutely no hiss. You can tailor the sound by easily replacing the socketed OpAmps inside the amp, just make sure you insert them with the proper polarity. OpAmps can range from several to over a hundred dollars for a set. Better OpAMps can give you better depth and a wider sound stage as well as a mellower sound.Remember this is a no frills amplifier with only pair of inputs, it is basically a volume knob and nothing else. But this is perfect when used as a desktop amplifier to drive a pair of desktop speakers. In this mode of operation, you do not need the optional power supply since most desktop speakers are quite efficient and do not need much power. The 48V provides a more heft to the sound with the added power. It can easily deliver enough power to drive most speakers. With either power supply, the amp seems capable of driving even 4-ohm loads without distortion which most modern amps fail to do.Some Pros:* Cheap but great value* Compact size* Very efficient* Swappable OpAmps* High quality components: Elna capacitors, WIMA Output capacitors, Sumida inductors and NCC CapacitorsSome cons:* Fosi used to supply the amp with the copper volume knob as well as the black one but it is now an added option.* The amp goes to sleep rather quickly after the input signal is cut. It takes about six seconds for it to come alive when signal is restored.* There is only one pair of RCA inputs* No Bluetooth capability* No subwoofer output

I tried the ZA3 first. But I was quite disappointed. It lacked detail, control, dynamics and the bass was a bit boomy. I almost send the V3 back without even trying. I'm happy I took the effort to hook them up, because wow! Big difference in my opinion. So much more control, calmness and detail. More composed. I've played them with Dali Spektor 2's and Mission LX-2's. The Spektors match better with their more clear and less warm nature. Very good match.I've also tried the Aiyima A70, Topping PA5 II, Fosi V3 mono. I like the Fosi Mono the most. It has more control and space vs these Stereo V3, but I liked these better than the other ones. The mono's also come with auto triggers. So I you have the budget and space (the mono has big power supplies with them), the mono's are a step up. But at this price this amp is just excellent!I also compared them to an Audiolab 6000A and even though the Audiolab has more finesse, especially in the lows, I really liked the somewhat more punchy character of these Fosi's with a really pleasant intimate treble the Audiolab's lack a bit. They offer a great sense of space and black background. And waaaaay smaller and cheaper. Sure, the Audiolab comes with more options, but If you don't need those .... I think It's a hard bargain to justify the Audiolab, which is a very acclaimed A/B integrated amplifier at 5x the price. Some negatives too though. No 12V trigger. No auto-on/off. It's always on, unless you manually turn It off by rotating the knob all the way back. It consumes 3W continuously. It's not that bad, but still, for me a big reason to go for a different amp. I always forget to turn It off.

This amp is impressive and nice, but not as nice as the older TB10D. Their sounds are similar, but the V3 does not perform as well with bass. The bass has far less punch, much less. Maybe this is fine if you plan on desk speakers or low volumes.Another negative for me is that the volume knob is the power switch as well. I prefer the separate switch on the TB10D because I control my volume elsewhere and like the consistent volume when powering on.So it is a nice amp, but not an upgrade. For my use anyways.

My V3 is powering Klipsch Cornwall I's (which are super efficient) and the highest volume I have used is 12 o'clock on the dial. I don't need it to go louder than that. The 32v power brick that came with the amp easily meets my needs and I don't need to upgrade to the optional 48v power brick. As for the quality of sound, this amp plays back so cleanly that it has exposed sonic flaws in some of my music collection that was known to have lower quality production and mastering. On the upside, I am now getting full enjoyment of my high quality media.

Okay i'm a be honest usually i don't make reviews on products that i buy, but when a product really impresses me, i do make reviews! This thing is crazy good for the price! The size is perfect, for a desktop application. Just switched from a home theater receiver, and this thing got some serious power. The power is unreal at volumes that are way too loud for human hearing. The clarity and bass is insane, clean power, the speakers seem too have a lot more ''Depth'' in terms of instruments and vocal placement. Honestly, every time i wake up in the morning and just play some music on he speakers i just get surprised at how good this amp makes my speakers play so well.If you're hesitating buying this amp, just click on that proceed to checkout button because i promise this thing will not disappoint you at all. The only drawback is that the volume knob feels exponential when increasing the volume, i just wished it would be a bit more linear but that's all

I have read many articles on the Fosi V3, all saying what a steal it was. I bought one to assemble a mini system for funsies, and wow! The system comprised of a desktop PC feeding a Topping D10s/Sparkos SS3602 mod, via USB, the output of which is input to the Fosi. Speakers are a new set of Micca RB42's. Because the Fosi only has one input I chose streaming as my material. This is one killer small system! The Fosi is dead silent, and has excellent sound qualities! And the RB42's are an amazing pair of small speakers! The Fosi has air, depth of sound, ambience and is just overall a great sounding amp.My only complaint is that I highly doubt the rating of 300 W/channel... but make no mistake, it will play loud. That new Texas Instruments IC is something else! A major leap for budget audiophiles! The only other problem is there is only one input. So you may need a switchbox if you want to hook up additional devices. It's easily worth the money! Buy one before they're all gone... :)EDIT: I've been listening to this system for 2-3 weeks now, and am blown away by the sound this system is capable of. The Fosi V3 must be considered a true hifi product! The depth of sound, imaging, clarity, and detail are great by any standard. The pairing with the RB42's is perfect, and the Fosi drives them with ease. I can't wait to hear the difference with the Sparkos SS3602 op amps! I've had very good results in several DACs etc. with them. At the moment though it's hard to imagine better small system sound! :)
