Love this lock. I feel so much safer with this attached to my sliding patio door than just a lock! I don't have to bend up and down to put a down in the door this is so easy! Best money I've spent fir our safety!

I initially wanted a different type of door lock than this one. We saw one at our Westin Timeshare with a bar that goes from the door frame to the door. I ordered that type, but it would not fit on our door and frame properly. I saw this as an alternative. It was easy to install, looks, and works better than the bar type. It is just as secure, if not more so. This one is also easier to lock and unlock.

Our sliding door lock got broken and we did not want to spend thousands to replace it just for the lock. Installed this and it has been sturdy and perfect. It’s nice when you have kids because it’s installed at the top of the door for safety.

We needed a secondary lock for our sliding glass door due to our toddler. This was easy to install and works perfect for our application. Spring unlock by press of a button. Easy to lock. It’s out of the way and not noticeable. It does not replace a deadbolt style lock, however does work very well to keep the door closed with a toddler running around. We have had installed for several months and use it daily.

Very easy install. Held the two components in place, marked the screw locations. Drilled small pilot holes for the screws and installed. To be fair I had to redrill 2 of them as there was a steel plate behind the vinyl and the pilot holes were too small in steel.As other reviewers pointed out you need to be aware of the glass inside the frame. I did not use one of the holes as I am sure I would have hit glass. Feels pretty secure. I'm sure that is someone took a prybar to the door they could pull the mounting screws (they are not overly large - see pic) but at that point they could just break the glass.I am satisfied that I have increased security on this door. Would recommend the product, in fact I am getting them for the other sliding door.

Product works but be careful installing. I knicked the tempered glass while drilling the holes in the frame of my patio sliding door causing the inner pane of glass to shatter. If you're worried about security use a bar in the track of the patio door instead.

Original plastic version with the pin kept popping up on its own so I replaced it with this lock. The fit is a good replacement where the screw holes match up on the door but the metal bracket on the door frame needs a new screw hole which is no problem as the plate blocks the original screw hole. The locking mechanism is so much more solid and positive so you can easily see that it is locked or unlocked. The metal plate on the door frame is way better than original plastic one which was at the point of crumbling. Highly recommended!

Works well. Easy to operate. I did not give it 5 stars however, because sometimes the locking mechanism doesn't engage right away (on the first push of the locking pin). When this happens, you have to move the door ever so slightly forwards or backwards to get the lock to engage. I'm thinking that if the slots on the catch plate were a tad larger the problem would go away. Not a deal breaker though. I still think it's a good product that works well.
