I used to buy this because it was cheaper than buying the individual colour cartridges but now it is no longer available and the cost of individual cartridges is prohibitive - especially because they don't last that long. After seeing the prices at the store, I decided to check Amazon and found it so I was very pleased. I also saw the Smart Ink that fits my printer so I decided to order both products in case the Smart Ink wasn't as good as it claimed. I started using the Smart Ink and it works perfectly and the price is excellent so this is the very last time I purchase HP ink. I has been bothering me for a long time that HP printers are very reasonably priced but their ink cartridges are very expensive so after a couple of years you spend more on ink than the printer cost. I am very happy to have found a very palatable replacement for this "discontinued" product.

Price on the HP XL series is a pretty good dollar but print quality and the guarantee of usability makes that price more acceptable. I always use the XL cartridges as they don't dry out as soon and have more life than the regular cartridges which seemed to dry out if you didn't use your printer for awhile.

I bought this cartridge in late October 2016. It's now early January 2018 and my HP Photosmart 6520 has been indicating low ink since last summer. Weird thing is that when I push the button on my printer to show the ink level, the cartridge seems to still be half-full. I don't think I got even 100 pages out of this cartridge. I'm also sure I couldn't have printed more than one or two photos since I installed it. I really don't print much because I can't afford to. I expected to get way more printing with an XL cartridge...what a disappointment! I should have known better when I was only charged $16.99 for it. Thought I'd found a bargain, but I found a rip off instead! Amazon should cancel their account and never carry their merchandise again. Clearly, they are re-using genuine HP cartridges and finding knock-off chips to install in them to fool the printers into thinking they're genuine. My printer totally thought this was a full cartridge, but it didn't even last as long as a regular one would. From now on, I will have to go to a bricks and mortar store like Staples and buy a genuine HP product because I can't trust printer ink from Amazon anymore. After this experience, I'm convinced they will sell anything and I'm afraid I'll end up with my printer being damaged by some imitation ink disguised as the real think.

This ink works really well. It was easy to install into my Photosmart and did not have any ink complications. The only thing is the price. It is more expensive then the InkSmart, but the HP printers require this specific kind, so what can you do. 4 stars.
