I purchased this inexpensive digital temperature controller to heat the battery box of my RV when I switched from AGM to LFP batteries, as the LFP battery I purchased was not self-heating. The 3 photos I've attached to this review tell the whole story of:- how to wire it properly (as the wiring diagram they display on the device and in the manual is incorrect/highly misleading)- how to interpret the setting parameters- how the device works for power consumption concerns. The display is an old school LCD one and the 5 setting parameters are cryptically displayed (no, your device does not have a damaged display!). Refer to my attached photo documents.Rather than using more reasonable parameters such as minimum and maximum temperature, they opted to use midpoint temperature and range temperature up or down from the midpoint.I didn't calibrate my device as it seems to be pretty accurate out of the box, but you can calibrate to a tenth of a degree. The CF parameter allows you to select Celsius or Fahrenheit, but if you change it all control parameters revert to their factory default values and you have to reset them to the values you desire. Since this product is so inexpensive I give them a pass on this design limitation. This device is compact and appears well constructed. I give it 5 stars for value, 4 stars for design, 2 stars for documentation, and 4 stars overall. I've ordered a second one to keep as a backup.

Product showed up today , instructions were clear , i set the cooling and heating parameters correctly and the internal relay comes on when the temperature hit the correct values but no power comes out of the cooling or heating out puts. Must be a dud product stay away from this controller.

My Chinese portable 12v fridge/freezer display died a couple weeks after I started using it, then the fridge just sat unused for a very long time until I bought and installed this thermostat controller.Easy to wire up to 12v, this unit comes with its own temperature sensor but I was able to use the fridge's original instead. Cooling function works, though I find the temperature still fluctuates and I need to find the sweet spot so it doesn't freeze everything in the fridge by running the compressor for too long. Temperature reading is a couple degrees off, but that could be because I'm not using the provided temperature sensor. All my issues are probably because of the fridge itself, and has nothing to do with this thermostat unit. This unit solved my problem and I love it for that reason alone.

I like the controller, I have a couple of the 110V AC version that have been working for years but this one was in operation for only a week before a segment on the display died. I've been using a different brand of 12v controller in the greenhouse for the last 4 years but unfortunately, something went wrong and I needed a replacement.I set this up to control a couple of 12v large PC case fans in our greenhouse. It can get pretty hot at the peak but be 10 degrees cooler at dirt level. Because I've got good service out of the 110v versions I decided to try this one. I use a small solar panel to charge a gel cell 12v battery and during the day power the fans. This set up works great.♦ The programming is pretty simple, the manual is well laid out and explains everything in plain English.♦ The rear-mounted terminal strip works great for connecting power, temperature sensor, and relay wires.♦ I appreciate the very long sensor cable, it makes placing the whole set up in the greenhouse where the controller and battery don't get hot.The controller may just be a lemon, I can live with this is as electronics will fail, what's important to me is that the company stands behind their product and in this case they responded quickly (within 48 hours) and have indicated they are sending a replacement.Even though it failed within a week of being put in service I'm still giving 5 stars because the seller is standing behind their product.

Very easy to connect, works the way it needs to, perfect. I give a 4 on 5 star to the temperature control just because we should be able to quickly set the desired temperature directly with the up down arrows but no, we need to enter the menu to do so. Still an extremely good small device.

I just installed this to control the refrigeration compressor on our sailboat, and it works as hoped. The language in the instructions is a bit awkward, but the unit appears to be very well built, and worked perfectly from square one. It's digital operation will be a huge improvement over the old mechanical unit used previously. Some suggestions based on my installation experience:1. The wire connectors are not supplied ready to insert wires, the lock screws need to be rotated counterclockwise to open the gap before inserting wires, and then rotated clockwise to clamp the wires. The wiring illustration attached to the unit is clear and unambiguous, at least to my brain.2. The unit is a bit too quick to leave setup mode automatically, so I found the easiest way to set up parameters was to do just one parameter, save it by hitting the power button, and then re-enter setup to do the next parameter. Once you get the idea, setup is quick and intuitive.3. The unit can be installed in a hole in a bulkhead and clamped in place with the orange anchors on the side of the box. However, make sure that the hole you cut is precisely sized because the flange on the face of the controller is not large, so there is not a lot of overlap to cover an oversized hole. The unit is compact and light though, so I mounted it with dual lock velcro instead of doing something more permanent.Review update: I have now used the controller on a one month boat trip, and it worked flawlessly. It is an enormous improvement over the old mechanical control, and has allowed us to compartmentalize our fridge to include a small freezer section. A fine unit for a very reasonable price. I will be buying another for our spares we keep on the boat.
