With all the computer component shortages happening, AMD CPU prices have been driven up to where I am with many of the 5000 series out of stock, so I decided to give intel a try. Was not disappointed.One of the best things about this CPU is how much you can overclock it, so make sure you buy a motherboard like the ASUS z490 that supports overclocking to unlock the full potential of this CPU. It does not come with a cooler or fan but, let's be honest, you should always buy a separate one anyways.After using this CPU for around 5 months now I can safely say it's a great product.

At the time of writing this review I picked this up for 280CAD. Given that the other AMD ones were at least twice the cost, I got this one specifically cause I game and have an RTX 3070. For the cost of 500$ I got a motherboard and CPU to upgrade from my old 6700k. That's still less than JUST the AMD CPU's in the same category. This works well for gaming and for video editing even. Theres a lot of hype around AMD, and yes, they are better. But probably not better enough to warrant spending 3x the cost in my opinion. You still get 8 cores, 16 threads and it's cheap for an i7. If you're going for budget, grab one of these, you won't be disappointed

I'm writing this using my new PC. This processor was a steal compared to others at a higher price when I ordered it. Works fine for browsing and emails and awesome for videos and when working with my pictures.

I was tired of my old Q66 lagging in the latest minecraft. It was my last build somewhere between 10 - 15 years ago and did a great job for what I needed, but it was time to upgrade. My love for the Gigabyte motherboard was hard to disregard during my new choices, because it worked well with Linux Mint (15 through 19) and my latest research indicated that they are still some of the most compatible boards. Anyway, I had to toss that in there, because I'm not sure if this CPU just happened to be a good combination with my new board or is just good in general. I decided on this CPU, because I read it was decent with graphics all on its own and my hope was that it would serve my purposes as such. I am not disappointed. All of the lag is gone! I can go in places I simply could not venture without nightmarish lag before - at 58 - 61 FPS without overclocking. This means I don't have to plug anymore devices into my machine and additional cooling gear to keep it all cool. I am quite happy. I haven't tried any Vulkan API related stuff yet, but I'm hoping it will handle it.

Solid card that overclocks with ease and gives solid frame rates for gaming using recent and new gen GPUs. Best Intel bang for your buck unless you need more cores for rendering and video editing. Not as good value as AMD but best all around price to performance CPU for 10th gen Intel's.
