The performance of the Core i7 X-series such as 7820X, etc. compared to Core i9 X-series such as 7900X is like comparing your average everyday scooters to a Ducati, there are no comparison. Yet, this processor still demanded a whopping $600, and by the way, the price jumped almost $200 within matter of weeks for not apparent reasons. My old motherboard went on me hence I've no choice by to build a new system, bad timing I guess! I happened to have a chance to build a system with the Core i9 7900X recently and now the Core i7 7820X, that's how I knew.

Zum Schneiden und Bearbeiten bestens geeignet. Projekte in LRTimelapse, Lightroom, Premiere Pro... gehen nun wesentlich schneller (vorher i7 6900k auf 3,9 Ghz)Allerdings auch nur mit Wasserkühlung(14x 4,3 GHz unter Last mit Corsair H115 sind Temperaturen bis 85 Grad möglich und bei Übertaktung von 2 Kernen auf 4,5 sogar schon bis 95 Grad)Nutze die CPU auf einem MSI x299 sli plus...Natürlich ist das keine CPU zum zocken aberDie Möglichkeit die Kerne einzeln zu tackten sorgt auch bei älteren spielen (die kein multicore unterstützen) für sehr gute Ergebnisse(Meine aktuellen Einstellungen 2x 4,4 GHz 12x 4,1 GHzbis max 80 Grad)Fazit kostet Sau viel ist aber dafür auch eine sehr leistungsfähig und zuverlässig Workstation CPU.

Got the i9-7980XE quickly and is exactly as advertised. It's a beast!

Da ich seit ca. 30 Jahren im Bereich der 3D-Animation und -Visualisierung arbeite, benötige ich immer die schnellsten Rechner."Extrem schnell" heißt aber auch oft "extrem unbezahlbar", so baue ich mir meine Workstations immer selber,habe dann genau das, was ich benötige und spare meist eine Menge Geld.Gut... der Preis des i9 7980XE ist schon jenseits von Gut und Böse, aber diese CPU ist jeden einzelnen Taler wert.In 30 Jahren habe ich es nicht geschafft, auch nur einen anderen Prozessor so hoch zu übertakten wie diesen hier.Zwei Wochen lang habe ich mich mit Overclocking beschäftigt...habe getuned...einen Tag ganz normal damit gearbeitet,wieder getuned, wieder gearbeitet uswusf.Mit dieser Methode teste ich meine PCs, da mir alle Stresstests zu unrealistisch und zu synthetisch sind.Getestet und oc'ed habe ich für 3D Studio Max (Mental Ray, VRay, Redshift), Adobe After Effects, Davinci Resolve,diverse Videokonverter, Winzip und allem, was ich als 3D Artist so einsetze.Rockstable bin ich (in Verbindung mit einer Fractal Design S36 AIO und 6 Lüftern) bei 4,6 GHz gelandet.Rockstable heißt bei mir: Wenn die Kiste Mental Ray und VRay überlebt, dann ist sie wirklich rockstable,denn Cinebench, Prime, AIDA, Super PI, Furmark, XTU und Intel Burn Test, steckt diese CPU mit einem müden Lächeln weg.Aktuell fahre ich diese CPU allerdings auf 4,8 GHz, da ich mittlerweile auf den GPUs rendere und für michMR und VR nicht mehr so wichtig sind. Beim ganz normalen Arbeiten mit 3D Studio Max im Vordergrundund dem Berechnen von 2000 Bildern in FullHD im Hintergrund (mit Redshift), murmelt der i9 mit 45°-52°C vor sich hin.Winzip bringt ihn allerdings gerne mal an die Max-Temp (die bei mir auf 94°C eingestellt ist)...dann wird ein wenig gethrotteld(aber nur auf 4 der 36 cores)Härtetest waren das parallele (!) Berechnen einer 3D-Szene (2000 Bilder/FullHD) mit Redshift und dem Berechnen von34 (vierunddreissig) 90-minütigen Filmen - wohl gemerkt: Parallel und nicht gequeued. Die Filme waren in sage und schreibe zw. 27-35 Minuten berechnet, während Redshift fleißig weiter bis zum Schluss gerendert hat. Temps lagen hier bei max 87°c. (bei Raumtemperatur von 21°C) - Stromverbrauch (gemessen): 845W (+/-10W) durchgängig.Ich denke, ich habe mit meiner CPU einen besonders guten build erwischt, denn ich habe mit allem gerechnet, nur nicht damit.Für längere Winzip-Sessions (wenn ich meine Kundendaten archiviere), werde ich die Fractal Design S36 in einen Custom-Loopumbauen, damit mir beim Packen die Kiste nicht abraucht.BTW: Cinebench ->Multithreaded : 4622 (stable)Muss man mehr dazu sagen? :)Meine ganz klare Empfehlung! ! !Danke INTEL, DAS habt ihr grandios gemacht. Die beste CPU, die ich je in den Händen halten und verbauen durfte.

Update despues de 1 mes y medio de uso.Todo sigue funcionando de maravilla y ahora tengo números más reales de trabajos:Render con Arnold Render (Maya 2018) a 5k de resolución a 300 dpis5820k - 145 Minutos7900x - 63 MinutosRender con Arnold Render (Maya 2018) a 2k de resolución a 72 dpis5820k - 24 Minutos7900x - 10 MinutosLa temperatura ha disminuido un poco más no se si por que ya se asentó al 100% la pasta térmica pero a Full Render no sobrepasa los 63 Grados Celsius.Es una maravilla de procesador completamente recomendable si vas a vivir de el, si es para gaming o hobbie creo que hay mejores opciones, pero para trabajo, puedo decir que en tan solo 1 mes este procesador ya prácticamente se pago.------------------Antes que nada me gustaría darles un brief de a que me dedico: Actualmente soy Generalista 3D y muchas veces me llevo el trabajo a casa o me cae uno que otro freelanceo, por lo que tener un equipo de última generación es básico para mi, ahora si al review del producto.Después de analizar los i9 y los threadrippers y haber leído en todo internet acerca de lo caliente que es este procesador me decidi a comprar Intel, ya que llego muchos años usandolo y NUNCA he tenido un solo problema, ademas los foros de AMD estan repletos de problemas de inestabilidad en los TR y de incompatibilidad con memorias RAM.7900x, desata a la bestia.Viniendo de un 5820k (tampoco nada despreciable) la diferencia es muchísima, trabajos de producción en After Effects, Premiere, Nuke y Maya los realiza más de 2 veces más rápido, render para impresión que con el 5820k tomaban al rededor de 2 horas ahora toman 45 minutos, esto ha optimizado muchísimo mis tiempos, me ha permitido tomar mas freelanceos y ha aumentado la calidad de mi trabajo, a mas poder de procesamiento mas cosas puedo meterle.Ahora hablemos de algo que a muchos les da miedo, la temperatura, en este caso no se si los reviewers sean pagados por alguien o como funcione pero personalmente no se me hace que este procesador corra caliente, lo estoy usando junto con un AIO NZXT Kraken X62 y en idle normalmente esta entre 27 y 32 grados Centigrados, una vez lanzado un render y que el procesador se usa al 100% la temperatura comienza a subir, pero nada que me alarme, la temperatura máxima que le he visto a un núcleo es de 65 grados, nada fuera de lo común y esto usando el modo "Silent" del Kraken. La realidad es que el 5820k a full load llegaba al rededor de los 58 grados por lo que para mi la diferencia es mínima dado cuanto poder tiene de mas.Lo bueno:- Excelente procesador, muy fácil de instalar.- Calidad garantizada, solo lo instale y al primer intento booteo e instalo Windows sin ningún inconveniente.- Velocidades de infarto hasta 2.5 veces más rápido que un 5820k.- Tenía miedo de la temperatura pero para mi gusto y estándares 65 grados después de un render a 6k y 300 DPIs no es nada.- Se que ya lo menciono, pero han probado 10 nucleos a 4.3 GHz??? Es una bestia!!!Lo malo- El costo, si bien es una herramienta de trabajo que se paga sola desembolsar más de $20,000 por un procesador es bastante.Amazon como siempre una maravilla, ordene el domingo por la noche y el martes antes de mediodía ya tenía mi paquete, perfectamente empacado y en perfecto estado.- Otros componentes* Asus Strix x299-E* Interl Core i9 7900x* AIO NZXT Kraken x62* 64 GB DDR4 Kingston HyperX Fury* Asus Strix 980Ti* EVGA Supernova 750G2 Plus Gold* NZXT H440i Razer Edition

Unfortunately got it too late but its an amazing processor

upgrading from a i7 4790k there was a large difference in performance. to bad the motherboard i ordered had some issues.

While I'm sure the processor is A1, I'm writing this on April 12th 2018. Got the "chip" today. Upon opening the box, the CPU inside is actually a Xeon E5 worth about 200USD, still with old thermal grease on it.This is not the first review I've seen like this. The alarming part is I did check my "Intel factory security" tape and it was fully intact. Heat had to have been used to unseal and reseal it. Since i doubt intel has this problem at the factory, Amazon has some serious internal work to do. I'll adjust my review once I receive the correct processor, supposedly 8 days from now. Buyers be forewarned, you have a probability of getting a CPU that is not the one you ordered in the correct box. Unbelievable.

Non l ho ancora tirato con qualche analisi (montato su una workstation che mi sto assemblando per uso cad e analisi numerica come studente) ma che farò a breve (aggiornerò la recensione)... per adesso posso dire che mi è arrivato perfettamente funzionante in anticipo rispetto alla data di consegna.. scalda molto meno rispetto al mio vecchio processore pur avendo performance nettamente migliori.. saprò dire qualcosa di più quando farò girare qualcosa di più pesante per ora è perfetto quindi si merita 5 stelle

I couldn't be more happy, the speed obtained from this tiny piece of silicon is nothing short of amazing, price is a little steep but worth it.I currently have it clocked at 4.6ghz rock steady in everything i do , video encoding , 3d rendering, You name it this beast can do it effortlessly.
