This is sturdier and cheaper than the 25' dog leashes on Amazon so I got it to let my dog have room to roam on our walks. The nylon is very stiff and not forgiving at all if you get tangled up in it. I got tangled up while tossing the ball for my 65 lb dog and now I have scars from the lead burning against my calf. 100% my fault, but something to be aware of.I would definitely use gloves to lunge a fresh horse with this and would even consider wearing gloves for using it for a large dog.

We had bought this item for our second husky (bitch). We already have another blue lunge line for our first husky (dog), since they are not allowed off lead, these lunge lines give them the freedom to roam whilst still attached to a human! Very well pleased with the quality and durability of these items and the relatively low costCatt x

I am using this to long leash walk larger dogs at our no-kill shelter. Great to help train them to not pull as they have a lot of line.I am able to sew with a sewing machine, so it was so easy to heat seal the end, after removing the rubber piece. I think made a loop for my hand. You would not want this for horse lunging use, but these lines are awfully strong and I love using them for dog training. No other dog leash compares to the heavy duty quality of this leash. So, if you want to use it for a dog...it is fabulous if you can just have someone fold the end of the leash over and double tack a handle for you. For horse use, I would imagine it is a terrific line, but you would want to keep the rubber stopped for that. It endures use in our local stream as well while the dogs take a dip to cool off!

I use this lunge line for two different means. It is usually out on a big branch of a tree in the front yard where I can put the dog out while I work in the garden. It does not tangle. It is very sturdy. I also use this line when my dog is swimming. I feel comfortable with the length of the line and it makes it easy to grab her when she comes back from fetching. Its not too heavy when wet. Granted, I have big dog.

I have had one like this before. It is exactly what I needed and I would recommend this to anyone who has the same requirements. It seems to be excellent quality.
