I liked everything about this product Thank-you. Instead of calling in a repair man for windows, you can go on YouTube which is so great. You can learn how to install it yourself and this product is a wonderful replacement for the original that broke. This was for the house I was selling. Then I moved into my new home and that widow lock is broken too. So I will be buying another one and I'm so happy to be able to get it on Amazon

Very solid latch. Heavy weight makes for a solid tight latch!

While these latches will serve their intended purpose, I agree with other reviewers that these latches are light weight and are mediocre quality. The latch arrived in a plastic baggie with a label affixed "Made in India". For under $10, I wasn't expecting much, but the latch feels cheap in my hand. I found these same latches being sold elsewhere for under $2, which IMO is about what they are worth. The entire spring latch is held together with a single rivet. When I think of a security grade lock, I envision something a bit more substantial. I'm very disappointed with this latch for the price and will be returning it and purchasing a higher quality one from another manufacturer. I purchased this latch for a garage window. I removed and discarded the rusty old iron latch. While not pretty, the quality of that old latch was far superior to this one. At this point, I'm contemplating digging it out of the trash and taking a wire brush and a can of Krylon to it.
