Honestly for the price it's great. Fit perfectly and easy on/off. Has the locking tab/button which is a nice plus. Considering how much cheaper it is than the official canon one I can't find any fault with it, and I own a bunch of canon gear with official canon lens hoods. It's definitely a cheaper feeling plastic, but it's a lens hood... It's just fine if it is. I'm more concerned with it's fit and how easy it is to remove/place on the lens. For $12 if it breaks I won't feel bad.

The hood arrived in perfect condition and attach easily and match perfect the RF100-400 lens. It does not look that the quality of the material is too high, but it is ok according to the price

This product works easily with the Canon RF 100-400 Lens, It can be put on forwards when in use and backwards when not in use to save space. It is made of hard plastic.

Before i tell you how it saved my lens, let me tell you that a lens hood is worth it for the shade it provides, in my opinion makes the lens look complete and the main reason i think it's worth the money is protection!So i was a bar and after a few drinks, I got tipsy. Then I went to the washroom for a wee and I placed the camera out of the way towards my back. The alcohol in my brain made me feel at easy to not even bother to close the door. I though: it's just a wee, it will be a few seconds, no one is gonna bang the door... Thankfully the lens hood was on and it took the shock from the metal door! I was relieve to see that the 1000$ did not suddenly drop resale price. It was just as fine as it was 1 min earlier, not a scratch but on the 20$ plastic. A 2% extra investment to safe the lens from damage is well worth it.

Good price. Fast shipping. Well constructed. This is the second lens hood I bought from this company. Totally impressed with fit and finish. Fits like a glove on the RF 100-400mm. Button release. Great lens protection. The other one is for my RF 800mm F11. Stores reversed on lens, minimal bulk. Most highly recommended.

Lens hoods just block the light, you dont really need to buy like a dedicated one, you can achieve the same thing with a piece of black cardboard taped to the front of the lens. That being said, this one works pretty well on my 100-400. it clicks into place so I know its secure and it is reversible so thats nice. It is quite a large lens hood and when it is reversed it doesnt fit very snug with the lens and I am scared that if i knock it in the bag I might just snap the filter thread so I almost store it seperately when travelling. Be aware that it makes an already really long lens even longer; to an almost comical level. It is quite light so it doesn't weigh down the lens per se, will just get you some strange looks.

Pues sirve para lo que es. No hay mucho más que agregar. Los materiales son de buena calidad y tiene un excelente desempeño. La caja venía muy maltratada, y ligeramente abierta, pero el parasol venía bien. Me gustó mucho.
