Love these smarts switches! Why?Because they just work!Power outages, wifi problems, you name it as soon as they are able, they reconnect and just work as if nothing happened. I have over 20 of these installed in my house and have been totally trouble free since the spring of 2022. I have had them tied to google home and Alexa through multiple accounts it has been totally seamless. However, If I am being critical I would point out the mechanical side of the switch feels somewhat cheap and doesn't not give a satisfying click when pressed. Also the switch is quite bulky on the backside make sure you have plenty of space in your switch boxes, making room for this extra bulk is the most time consuming and tedious part of the install if your boxes are already crowded

Works well. Very easy instal. But you do need a Neutral (usually white) to wire in one of the switch locations. The secondary switch does not need one. The instructions are very clear and the kit includes labels for the wires as you uninstall the old switches. Really like the slow off of the switch. Also you can control the dimming from either switch. Finally like being able to use the app to control the switches too.

Another fantastic switch to add to your smarthome.Great connectivity across platforms and appsI have added the switch to Google Home and Home Assistant and has been flauless since installing properly. The kasa app for installing the switch is definitely the best from several brands I have installed so far. The kasa app also allows a lot of intergration with other Kasa and Tapo devices and sensors.Easy to install, if directions are followed. To ensure an easy a fast install I highly recommend a non-contact voltage tester and around a 20min-60minute window when you can turn on/off open circuits without small hands or inconvenienced spouses present. FOLLOW EACH STEP FROM THE INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS ON THE APP. I have replaced a few of the 3 ways in my house already so I skipped the open circuit test as I thought I had corectly identified the source, load and traveller, however the load and traveller got mixed up on the satellite switch and I had rewire it from the start. If replacing, take as many pictures of the existing switch connections from multiple angles to help with rewiring. Also pay it forward by labelling the lines.Power monitoringNot really well advertised, but there are power monitoring sensors onboard, this is handy functionality especially for home assistant users looking to monitor power usage of homes and rooms.

The Kasa line of switches are an excellent choice for upgrading your home to a smart home. They install easily like any switch should. The quality is robust and they look sharp once installed. Each switch comes with everything you need including basic install instructions, connectors, and finish plate. The switches have a night light feature built in to them making them easy to locate and turn on in low light situations.Their app is easy to use and has numerous features to automatically control your home. The Kasa line integrates nicely with Tapo products and you can easily control all your cameras and switches from the Tapo app as well.

Love their product! I have many of their product. Smart switch, smart plug, outdoor plug and bulb. Easy to install with step by step with all the product. Smart switch requires some electrical knowledge but the step by step is very clear. Connecting to wifi and programming is easy. The App is awesome!

I have purchased a few TP-Link/Kasa products over the years and they have yet to let me down. These switches do exactly what you would expect and at a reasonable price and they work flawlessly.Installation was easy with the instructions provided (they even include little label stickers to wrap around the wires to make keeping track of them easier) and, once all of the wiring was done, setup took no more than a couple of minutes (including adding to Google Home for automation).Very happy with this product.

I have a few of these now. I have them setup in rooms I like being able to schedule when we are away from home. They work very well, are really easy to setup and really easy to use the app. It does connect to Google Home which is very convenient.

Like the other reviews say, the switches work flawlessly and the V2 are even easier to install than the first gen.I did my entire basement (6 kits) with these last March and was finally about to complete the rest of my main floor (7 more kits). When I went to purchase I was shocked to find that the price had increase exponentially over 40% from this past March! I did a quick search around and it seems they are in low supply right now which is likely why the seller is price gouging. Avoid right now until they are back in supply or get ready to pay a fortune.Coincidentally, Amazon has launched their own smart 3-way dimmer but unfortunalty, has zero support and functionality with anything other than Alexa.*Edit less than a week later the price dropped from $109-44. Worth the buy now 100%!!

Excelente producto, ya tengo casi toda la casa con esta marca de apagadores y no decepciona jamás. La única cuestión es que hay que tener un cable neutro al alcance, pero con pocos conocimientos de electricidad puedes hacerlo. Recomendados.

These 3 way switches are great once you get them wired up. I didn't have experience installing 3 way switches, though I have installed many of the single switch TP Link switches. The first 3 way switch took a while but most of the others went much quicker. These switches are pretty meaty, particularly the main switch. I had to modify the inside of one of my electric boxes in my 1950s home to squeeze switch in, and for a garage application with metal box cover, had to trim away at the mounting tabs to fit.Biggest issue I had was that I installed the 4th or 5th three way switch and got flashing red circle upon startup. There was no way the wiring was wrong, it was super obvious in both electric boxes what went where. So I put in a new TP Link 3 way switch and still got same error. Disappointed, I tried swapping the traveler wires on one of the switches and miraculously, problem solved. The orientation of the two traveler wires is not supposed to matter, don't know what happened there but at least it works now. If you're sure the wires are correctly oriented but you have red circle, maybe test switching travelers on one of the switches.Once they are set up, they work wonderfully. Love the white LED ring on the front so you can find the switch in the dark. The LED ring is a slightly different color/brightness than TP Link's single switches, my wife wishes they were the same. Tons of options for scheduling and so forth. So far, couple weeks, very reliable - I've always had a good experience with TP Link's switches.Part of my 5-star review is that I've wanted a matching 3 way dimmer switch relative to TP Link's very good single dimmer switches, so really happy to finally have a solution for all my applications. At the sale cost of ~$36 per 3 way switch kit and reasonable simplicity to install myself, it is a fantastic value for us to have remote control of everything.

I had never taken apart a 3-way light switch before, and it wasn’t immediately clear what was going on in the box. Once I figured it out everything works perfectly, and I am using each one in two separate rooms rather than installing both of them for the same light. All functionality works perfectly, both manually and with the Kasa app, for both lights when the switches are installed on seperate circuits. In my photo, one black cable was hot (the line) and that’s connected to the black screw labelled line/load. The other black and the red are the travellers. On my other circuit the travellers were red and white. Some tips...1) Install both to control the same lighy only if having matching switches is important. They look very similar to the switches I already had, so this wasn’t important for me at all. You absolutely only need to use one smart switch per circuit.2) Power only goes to one light switch. I installed them on the switch that had a power coming to it.3) You can find which one has power (is hot) by disconnecting all cables from both switches, and use a multimeter to test each cable. Only one, on one side, will be hot. It’s best to turn the breaker off before detaching the switches, and then turn it back on to find the hot one. It should be one of the black ones.4) To be sure which are the two travelers, again with the breaker off, you can use a wire or something to connect all of the cables together in the box with the hot cable, then go over to the other side and again use the multimetre and both travellers will be hot.5) The cable on the other side that is not hot at this point will be the one that goes off to the load, which in this case are the lights. It will probably also be black.6) Back in the box with the hot cable coming from the breaker, connect the hot wire to the black screw of the smart switch, and the two travellers to the two travellers screws.7) This could’ve been tip one, but you need a neutral to connect to or it won’t work. This is required so there is a circuit always delivering some power to control the electronics in the smart switch. It will work if you connect neutral to ground, but this is not recommended at all. Connecting the ground to the ground is optional, but recommended.8) Reconnect all cables to the original dumb switch on the other side. The load should connect to its black screw. If it has a neutral, and you want to use both smart switches on the same circuit, then go right ahead.9) Take a couple of clear pictures of both switches BEFORE disconnecting any cables so you can be sure to put it back as it was. You could’ve also added labels (included in the box) as you confirmed what each cable was.10) When setting it up in the app, after you have configured the smart switch following the instructions, just click next/done a couple times to tell it you did the other one, on the other side, when you actually didn’t.11) Install the second switch on another 3way circuit of your choice12) To work with Google Home/Alexa, you need to turn on remote control in the device settings using the Kasa app. This is because Google talks to your TP link account in the cloud to control the lights.Final note: It really is too bad they don’t sell these in packages with only one for people who might want to only install one on a single circuit . Their included information could also clarify that each switch could be used on separate circuits. I hope these tips help someone.
