Both items were already opened. One box the cables was with plastic bags for the cables already ripped and the second one the packing was all messed up. Not happy with it at all. That is the only reason I am giving 2 starts now. However, I am keeping both items and see how they behave and will make a second review

Quite helpful when your space is limited and you have a company Computer and your own at your desk.Instead of moving cables, click of a button you can use your own PC.Using 1080P displays so no idea how it works on higher resolutions.

Makes shifting from work mode to home mode a breeze. You donโt even have to keep your laptop open! If you know you know.

The 4 port USB switch hub saves a lot of space and a lot of fuffing around. Just one button click and I can control a different machine. I use this to share my Logitech Mouse and Keyboard amongst many computers. 2 PCs and 1 Mac. With an additional slot to spare for another computer. It works fine. I like the remote control. There's a 1 second delay when switching as the computers re-detect the USB. I dont mind that.

Using DP to HDMI cables on the output side of this switch doesn't work. I've tried 5 different HDMI monitors and buying brand new 4k Ultra HD, Display port to HDMI cables. None of the monitors will recognize the input from the swith.

Works fine for awhile, and I liked the little button panel that came with it, but after about 2 weeks, it started randomly connecting and disconnecting from my computer

Make sure your cables don't exceed 4.9 feet. It works but it glitches when I play around with different monitor arrangements. Some refresh rates don't work until I swap for shorter cables. Kind of annoying.

I don't know why, but the space this product fills seems to be a very difficult space in which to supply an actual working product.I am leaving a positive review based solely on the fat that this product does indeed work out of the box to share a keyboard and mouse between multiple computers. That this fact is worth even mentioning in a review should speak volumes about the level of non-functional garbage that is for sale on Amazon in this space. I am speaking from a position of knowledge. This is the 6th such device I have ordered and the second that has actually worked for my relatively humble requirements, and has been trouble free.I am, however, only awarding 4 out of 5 stars because whoever decided to use a diamond configuration for the switch buttons instead of a linear arrangement mirroring the position of the activity lights on the device should never be allowed to design a product again without completing a remedial user interface design course. I routinely struggle to pick between the 2 and 3 positions on the switch, and after literal months of daily use. So if you're prepared to put up with that, then this is a good buy. Otherwise, look elsewhere.

I connected 4 computers with the included cables, and it worked exactly as advertised. I connected a Dual 4K monitor docking station, mouse, keyboard and USB backup drive and all work perfectly. The included, wired remote has one small issue in that the numbers do not match with the cable connections. A bit of trial and error though, and all is well.My ask for the manufacturer would be to include USB-C cables instead of USB A
