I have a light fetish as my wife occurring.I just have bad luck with waterproof lighting. My Bennington factory non-led version lights burned the leg of one of my guests because it got too hot. These were replaced by the Bennington warranty. They gave me exact fit chrome ones as a replacement. They just stopped working after 1 year and would get moisture in them. These are wider than my factory ones. I had to drill new holes for these. These do not come with connectors. I used, cut and spliced my old connectors off my old lights and soldered the old connectors onto these open wires. Worked like a charm. The lights are bright. My dual purpose bow lights have a ridge separating this light to the other light and to the other side of the bow. Therefore I don't have cross light reflection occuring.I have not had my boat out on the water yet but we just went through the first huricane for 2023 in Florida. No problems with moisture so far.I will update soon.

Unless Zinc is a new type of plastic, these are not zinc. With or without copper coating. I didn't really expect them to be, but it is false advertising. Also, the waterproof statement is likely not true, either. I can see the entire o-ring that is supposed to be sealing the lens to the base. It isn't sealing anything if it isn't seated. The leads are pretty short and can be a bit difficult to splice if you don't have good access under the deck you are mounting them to. As as for mounting, it seems that no one knows how to print a template anymore. That said, these do look decent and will keep my boat legal if I have to submit to a USCG inspection or run at night. Both are not really likely where I fish, but you never know. Overall, I'm not disappointed for the price paid.

These lights are solid and bright. What I'm about to state was known to me prior to the purchase, but I knew how to adjust. I bought them because I liked how they looked. These are not Coast Guard approved. If you put these on "as is" you might as well wave a big flag stating "I'm running non-Coast Guard approved lights!" Both of these lights omit light over a 225 degree arc. That means that if you put them on as is the red and green beam will overlap. 112.5 degrees dead center Each light should be only a 112.5 degree arc. These were manufactured so they could be used mounted upright on a horizontal surface, or upside down on a horizontal surface. However, it is up to the buyer to black out the appropriate half. Most would be mounting them upright, so the right half of the green light (starboard - right side of boat from your steering position) needs to be blacked out, and the left side of the red light (port -left side of boat). NOTE: You would black out the opposite half if mounting them upside down. Thus each would have a 112.5 degree arc of light that does not overlap. Installing them "as is" could be very dangerous because it would not give others the correct visual cue as to the orientation or change of orientation of your vessel. These should come with instructions and black-out tape. I used silver duct tape to first cover the "blacked-out" half (to reflect light back to the inside), then I put black tape over the silver duct tape. Now they don't scream "NOT COAST GUARD APPROVED!" My guess is these could be CG approved, but those instructions and black-out tape would have to be included when they present the product for approval.
