I used DRT50ZX4 for few days now. The Makita 5.5 Aps-hour battery lasted more than I needed in one day of usage (one project). The hand grip is decent (with a rubber surface on one side). The power activation button is a nice safety feature. I like the LED lights on the working area. The dust extraction connector is a bit on cheap side, but it would work. It came with 2 guides for hand-routing edges, a bushing guide and wrenches. The brushless motor makes a big difference (more battery life). Stops immediately after switching it off, saving time for each cut.The stability is ok, despite the bulky battery bringing center of mass away from the rotating bit. To make it even more stable and comfortable in hand I removed the original router plate and added a thin rectangular plate base with 2 handles (search "diy router plate jig").Micro adjustment button is working in my hands only when I unclamp, and then the tool shifts a bit making it a bit challenging to regain the original position then to make the micro change. Maybe it's just me, not being having proper technique. All in all, it is a quality product, glad I bought it.Cheers

This little trim router is small and light. As you can see I power it with a dewalt battery. You can also buy many Router bases which increase the functionality. I'm one of the few that prefer the adjustment mechanism over dewalt's. I find when you open the leave about half way you can do small reliable adjustments that are a million time faster and easier than dewalts adjistment mechanism. I own a 2 1/4 HP prouter from DeWalt and I hate adjusting it. A side note is if you only have dewalt, just buy an adapter and buy the right tool.

Bought this for my husband for Christmas to go with his array of other Makita tools and this one did not disappoint! Nice compact size allows for versatility and maneuverability, moreso than a full size router requiring 2 hand operation. First project was routing the edge of a 6 ft table top. Worked well. Very impressed.

Ich verwende seit Jahren entweder Makita oder Milwaukee (USA). Das Gerät lässt sich wunderbar benutzen. Liegt gut in der Hand.

It is a light weight device - as it it doesn't weigh much, making it easier to use. The loss of the cord makes it much more versatile, and the small size make it a joy to work with on the few projects I have used it on. I would like to consider the plunge base for it, but I'll have to save up a bit for that, it is an expensive addition.

I had originally bought the cRyobi cordless router, but after minimal use the motor was making a different sound than when new, and the lack of an available dust shield was a nail in the coffin for me. Also the batteries are just as expensive as the more expensive brands, and I have no interest in owning the rest of their junk, so back it went.Anyways I bit the bullet and bought this instead, and it's incredible, at $170 it's a steal in comparison to the cryobi at $100. VERY solid all-aluminum construction and impressive battery life using 3.0ah batteries (I also bought a drill/driver set for the batteries and charger). The dust shield is included and was a major selling feature for me, and it works incredibly well. I also like that all of the attachments that come with the corded version will fit on this unit. Five stars.
