I do yoga *casually* and dont need this for my "practice" but honestly I don't like being stuck on a small yoga mat. I like to spin around and have a ton of space. How do you relax trying to stay inside a coffin sized mat?I also like taking naps on the floor. My baby also likes playing on the floor.*enter in big manduka mat*We LIVE on this mat. It's dead center of our home. My big kids wrestle on it, husband works out, I do yoga, baby plays all day. It is incredible. Also it's easy to disinfect with the spray. It's a sticky, thick, wonderful mat. Worth EVERY penny.

Love this extra large mat for my home workout area. I debated on the size but went for the larger option and it is PERFECT. It is exactly what I wanted and I am so happy. Big fam of this brand for individual mats and just as happy with the big one. Definitely glad I didn’t skimp on this as I will be using it daily.Only wish it were in stock in Navy as I would have preferred that color. But black looks good and I am satisfied. Highly recommend!

I've owned this mat now for 6 months, setting it up on the floor of my workout room. It protects the carpet and gives me the surface I need for yoga of all kinds as well as any other general workout since these things are supposedly indestructible. They do get a bit more slippery when wet which you must keep in mind if you do hot yoga or sweat a lot. Not that big of a barrier for me personally, though. Yes, it is pretty large just as others have said. Definitely not for travel. Best yoga purchase I made all year!

I started yoga 10 years ago and was very large so I researched yoga mats with More/most cushion...and tried a number of them at studios. I ended up buying a Manduka extra long 85” black mat pro mat and have never looked back. I have two extra long BlackPro mats (10 years old) and two standard length (Purple) Pro mats (for use in crowded classes).I purchased this Manduka Black Mat Pro Squared to put on the floor of my sauna for hot yoga (removable benches) and it just could not be more perfect. If you can wait for Black Friday, you will find it for $270 vs full price. If you have the space for this mat, get it!It is one of the best purchases I have ever made.... literally...ever. It makes me smile every time I go to the mat.

I already have two 85” black mats, one for the road, and one for classes when I am home. I purchased this one for home. The mat that travels with me, has seen use on gravel, snow, ice, and dirt for almost a decade. It has seen me through years of jump roping (weighted ropes made from coated steel cables), kettlebell training, and mace training. I would never buy another type of mat, and the way these wear, I will never need to do so.

This is just a 72 x 72 (inch) version of the Manduka black mat. Same material, same thickness, so it'll have the same qualities-- excellent hardiness and yet comfortable for floor exercises. For P90X it works pretty well, much better than putting two black mats together as I've done in the past (that involved constant adjustments). On some Plyometrics exercises it will still bunch up or it will move (at least if you have it on carpet as I do), but again, much better than the black mats. For superman or other floor work it works extremely well. With yoga I like it but am still getting used to it, as I sometimes judged how wide my arms are by the width of the regular mat. This mat is way overpriced-- 4x the cost of a regular mat-- but it beats anything else I've found. I've also owned the XMark Fitness XMat or something very similar to it. That mat would undoubtedly stay in place better, but it's more appropriate as something to hold equipment and doesn't have the comfort of the Manduka.I didn't let this impact the rating, but note that the mat arrived rolled up in a very long box, and parts of it were really filthy. Plan to spend time cleaning it thoroughly once it arrives.
