This compact Q100 amplifier with Bluetooth 4.2 from DOUK AUDIO can provide up to 40W to each of your 4-8ohm bookshelf speakers and up to 80W to a passive subwoofer. The amplifier unit is compact, with a black aluminum shell and banana plug inputs for your speakers. It also includes RCA plugs for a 3.5mm jack and a 3.5mm to 3.5mm auxiliary cable. A small, lightweight DC 24V-32V AC Adapter powers the unit, and while they note it can get warm during operation, I didn't experience anything of note during my time testing it.Once powered on, a blinking blue LED indicates it is in Bluetooth pairing mode; once connected, it remains solid blue. I found it was easy to pair my iPhone and didn't experience any dropouts from the Bluetooth 4.2 connection. I think this amplifier is tailored to low ohm and wattage bookshelf speakers. Despite the noted 40W output, I found it struggled to adequately power a pair of ENERGY V-MINI 8ohm bookshelf speakers I tested with (capable of up to 150W of RMS). Yes, they could get loud with the Q100 amp, however, the overall sound was lacking on the low-end of the spectrum. While the Q100 amplifier certainly has some dynamic power at 40W, I think it is better suited for lower ohm and wattage speakers to be driven optimally. Note, I didn't have a passive subwoofer to test so I found the buttons dedicated to bass levels had no effect with the 2.0 speaker setup.Overall, this little amp is likely best suited for a PC desktop setup or perhaps a pair of outdoor speakers for a patio provided they don't require a higher ohm or wattage to get the best dynamic sound. Priced below $60 at the time of this review, I think the Q100 Amplifier with Bluetooth from DOUK AUDIO is still a recommended buy if you can properly match it to a pair of bookshelf speakers that will favour the lower wattage.

I have a set of bookshelf speakers from an old home theatre set that I won't use anymore.Hooked it up to this amplifier, and now I can use them for bluetooth music. This also has an aux in from the front.Too bad this doesn't have a bit more inputs, else I can replace my Lepai that doesn't have bluetooth, but that one has 3.5mm aux in and a line in.I don't have a subwoofer to test this with, but I'm sure it'll add to the sound if I had one.
