Finally sprung for a set of these after years of hating my multi tip combo internal / external units. Haven't used them much so far but the few times I have they have worked very well it's a nice change to grab a set that fit's well, works well, is a good price (local price for these where I live is over double what I paid here.I researched these quite a bit before buying. Happy happy.

I've been using a universal snap ring plier for about 20 years and finally got fed up with trying to make the replaceable tips mount at the angle I needed..usually ending in no joy. After researching and comparing the offerings from multiple manufacturers I settled on the OTC set. I can't say I jumped for joy the first time I used them because I didn't have the other brands to compare to, but I will say this. The two I've used out of the set so far took a bite on the latch holes in the rings with authority. No fumbling, no slipping, no poor scissor designed framing to bite the meaty part of your hand IF they slipped....which they didn't, just a good solid feeling positive latching tool.It's always a bit of a crap-shoot when buying without trying, but in this case at least it paid off for me. A fine addition to my professional toolbox.
