First off, let me just say that I like this smoker. It is a fun gadget to add to my grilling game. That said, I do think this was really annoying to put into use.Putting it together wasn't hard. There are just a few pieces to assemble, and they came together easily. It's also not too hard to operate. Just load it up with your wood of choice, set it on fire, and pipe that resulting smoke into your grill. When it is working properl, you get a lot of smoke from just a little bit of wood. Since it's a cold smoker, you're not adding any more heat to your grill, just smoke. This is where the annoying parts come in. First, the fan is powered by a USB, so you either need a power bank or an adapter that you can use outside. I ended up using a power bank, but I didn't really feel good about having that out in the weather. I guess if you have a power bank that is weather-resistant, it won't be a problem. The second issue I had was that the ashes from my wood chips burning seemed to get clogged in the chute and blocking the smoke. After a little bit, I had to shimmy around the chips to get my smoke moving again. It seemed a little persnickety to keep the smoke moving. That said, I would still recommend this gadget. It did really well to flavor up our burgers. I am looking forward to trying different wood sources to see how they change the flavors of my grilling.

This little unit is pretty nice. However, there will be a learning curve. First, for getting it assembled. It took a bit but we got there in the end. Then you will need to play with it. Make sure that your battery source is good and charged and within the parameters provided. Reminder that this is for smoke only - no heat. Make sure you are using as directed. Once we played with it a few time, we really figured it out and got it down. It works great. Not going to last enough to do a brisket or anything, but for some burgers, brats, roasts, etc... it works wonderfully. Happy with this.

This is my first-time cold smoking. I have a kamado grill, so it's not something I can usually go that low in temp with. But I've wanted to smoke cheese and salt. This provides that opportunity. I set it up using my pizza grill as it had a better layout for smoking cheese than the kamado and its heavy ceramic. A few things I went over or discovered.1. putting it together was super easy. It took 5 minutes.2. I smoked for around 2.5 hours and used about half the pellets in mine. Towards the end of the smoking, the pellets would jam up in the chute and have to be stirred/forced down a little. It was not a big issue, but it required a little monitoring.3. I don't know how others do it, but mine started immediately. I loaded the chute, pointed a starting flame at it with the pump on full, and left it for 1-2 minutes. It started rolling smoke immediately and needed to be turned down, or it would be overwhelming.4. There were some moisture issues. I don't know if it was my pellets or what happens with a cold smoker. I've never used one, but you could tell the tube would start making moisture noises after about an hour. I just used one of the ashtrays to dump it in.5. Not a big fan of the silicone ashtrays. Next time, I'll line them with tin foil. I had one ash fall into mine after I had to stir/force the pellets down.6. I'd set my cheese on some parchment paper and then pointed the smoke to the side of them. It still had enough moisture that the cheese got some of the wetness on them. I'll be cutting that off. But for future me and others, set your cheese up on a rack (off the parchment) and ensure the cold smoke tube is far enough away that it won't cause anything to drip down. It is not the fault of the system but a beginner learning curve.Overall, this worked well and used minimal pellets. I've done about six bricks of cheese so far and plan on trying salt next. Smoked salt on eggs is fantastic. I'll be using this quite a bit and will try and update with any issues or tips I find after using it for a while

This is a 'cold smoke' add on for any enclosed outdoor cooking chamber--gas grill, pizza oven etc. This device adds smoke only and no heat so if you are cooking something, you need to do this in conjunction with a working heat source. The idea is simple as can be. A smoking chamber holds the combustible smoke source--usually wood chips of some kind. A small aquarium style pump provides air pressure to push the smouldering and presumably fragrant smoke into wherever you need it. The level of pressure is adjustable and you can control the smoke source that way.Two issues. The pump needs a source of USB power which can be a brick or a power bank. The instructions are very specific as to the amount of power it needs (no more than 7V and no less than 2A) so one is left to wonder why the seller didn't just provide the appropriate power source in the kit. Fortunately most decent power banks will work well.Seller says that a full and smouldering smoker chamber will last at least 5 hours--this seems ambitious by a factor of 2 or 3 and I haven't had a chance to verify the claims. My experience is that a couple of handfuls of chips (even if you soak them first in water) last just 30 minutes to an hour under the best circumstances. However I am not saying the seller is wrong, just can't yet verify. This device is not going to provide the copious amounts of smoke that will cook meats but it will provide 'cold' smoke which is great for smoking delicate fish and cheeses. You can use this as a full blown smoker in conjunction with a covered BBQ grill or gas grill as well but I would use indirect heat, of course. The smoker includes a length of silicone heat resistant tubing and and a stainless bellows device so you can get the smoke right in to the heat zone as the tubing is good up to 350 degrees. It's pretty simple---but so is a stainless steel or cast iron smoker box which costs less, requires no power source and can provide more smoke than this can.I think this has a purpose and I am happy to experiment with it but I haven't yet convinced myself it is worth the trouble.

Only used it once, but it makes a lot of smoke and works well. I hope it continues to work well for many years.
