I purchased these for my 6 year old following a conference with his teachers. He is 6 years old, and in his Kindergarten year. They had some observations to share regarding his writing ability, and during this first half of the year, he has been introduced and practicing how to hold his pencil the right way. Having the correct grasp on your writing instrument changes how legible and neat your writing is for sure. With him being so young, this skill is important to learn and accomplish before he moves on to more challenging work in later years at school. The occupational therapist at his school suggested that we look into this pencil grasp tools to help reinforce holding the pencil that way. When I saw these, I remembered the conversation that we had had a week prior and deiced to order some for him. He has taken to them nicely! At first, it seemed a bit cumbersome, learning how to go about getting that initial grasp. But, once hes gone it, the tool is very comfortable to hold and write with, and definitely aids him in improving his control of the pencil. Not only has his legibility improved, but so has his fine motor skills associated with writing. These were an inexpensive tool to aid my son in his writing, and I'm so pleased with their value. I got several, in many colors, for under $10! A REALLY good deal, and the perfect place to start when trying to aid your child with grasping their pencil. I highly recommend if your kiddo is in need of similar help.

This set is perfect for teaching kids handwriting! I got it because I'm teaching a handwriting class at a pen show in June, and I needed something to help younger kids in the classroom in case we don't have enough adults to give them one on one attention. They are absolutely perfect for teaching the proper way to hold and write with a fountain pen. I am so excited to use these in my class!!
