The adaptor works well. notwithstanding, I discovered that I needed a new keyboard, and my new keyboard does not need the adaptor. I do wish to convey the message that the adaptor works.

Use this to run my personal ps/2 keyboard from my early pc days. Plug it in and play, no huss no fuss, just straight on keyboard ps/2 port to usb-A connector. Works like a charm.

I got this in order that my Wife could use her beloved PS/2 keyboard on her brand new (USB only) Windows PC. It works brilliantly.I also purchased two of this same Manufacturers Keyboards (Model Periboard-107). I have to say that this company makes the best keyboards I have ever used. Everyone who has used these classic keyboards usually falls in love with their perfect touch and reliability.I wish I had known about this Company and their products many years ago. In years past, I had used these keyboards many years ago with Agfa, HP, Digital (DEC) and CompaQ branding. At the time I had no idea who actually made these Rolls-Royce quality products.I am not paid to say nice things about this Company and their products but I do believe they deserve much credit for making such great products.I would be interested in knowing if Perixx make a USB version of the keyboard with the same feel and layout as the ones I have just purchased.

I got this to see if I can use it with my older but still going strong console switch, instead of the cheaper ones because of the reviews but unfortunately it’s useless. It lets you use either the mouse or the keyboard (which can switch after a reboot so it’s a random choice of which input device you get every time) which defeats the purpose. I bought this one, the one from StarTech and the one from MonoPrice and the other two seem to be made for console switches/KVMs but this one, I’d give it a pass if you want reliable response and pay the extra 2-3 dollars to the startech or monoprice versions instead

I bought Perixx PERIPRO-401 three years ago, and again recently. The old one works on all my computers, including very old one with USB 1.1 ports, and recognized as USB-to-PS2 device. The new one registers in Windows as Barcode Reader USB device, which was unexpected. I tried it on my very old desktop with USB 1.1 ports, and it does not work there: PS/2 keyboard is recognized, but every time computer goes to Sleep, after it wakes by me pressing keyboard button, keyboard becomes disabled.I purchased this for my new computer. There, I connected "new" Perixx to USB 3 port. I am not sure if that makes the difference, or something else. I have very old Microsoft PS/2 keyboard attached to it, also Perixx PS/2 mouse. This combination works fine.In Windows Devices and Printers I can see it as a Barcode Reader, but it has configuration settings for both mouse and keyboard. See screenshot attached. As long as it works, I am happy, but this is definitely not the old Perixx, and your results may vary.

When you just can't find that adapter you kept for no good reason, you order this one.I have my old PS/2 keyboard that I want to plug into my work laptop, but no PS/2 jack on laptop. So, not being able to find this adapter at home - which I am sure I'll end up finding in a few months, I bought the Perixx PERIPRO 401.I plug my old keyboard into the ps/2 side of the adapter and the usb side of the adapter into the laptop and everything works great.Contrary to what you may read, you do not need to have both ps/2 jacks plugged. This is misinformation. Works great just with keyboard plugged into it.I just wish this cost a little less, because even on discount at 10$, I find it steep.

This PS/2 to USB adapter gives you option to use only one USB port with older style PS/2 mouse and keyboards. As soon as you plug it in the OS should promptly install drivers and set it up. You're up and running in a couple of minutes. Built quality is good and hopefully it is reliable/durable inside, however the price is noticeably higher as compared to similar devices of this category.
