The feeder performs as expected, with one exception: it's too noisy for apartment living. Now that the neighbours have started banging on my walls, I'll have to give it up. Beyond me that in this day and age, it's not possible to engineer a silent mechanism.

Works great, it allows us to go away for the weekend knowing our boys will still get their wet food. I just froze the food and set the timer to open 12 and 24 hours after we left. Both were open when we got home.

I bought two of these for my two cats. They are perfect for a weekend away - they work really well and both sides open at exactly the same time, so there is no competition for food!

We had a previous version of the petsafe timed feeder. Unfortunately the timing mechanism on the old PetSafe two meal feeder is gone so we needed a new one. We thought the electronic version would be better so we bought it.Our cat is very ingenious getting into feeders however and we have had to create an exterior frame to keep him from getting his paws into the edge of the feeder. We received the new electronic version and tested it ourselves to see how easy it would be for him to get into it. The door releases so easily with a small pull of the lid sideways we decided we would not even try it on our Houdini and wanted to return it but Amazon says unreturnable item. There is no recourse. I would just like to exchange it for the older version of the two meal timed feeder we had. We at least know how he gets into that. I see no way of communicating with the vendor.

I really like these. I have two cats who wake us if they don't get fed on time so I have them set to open at around 3/3:30 AM so that we can actually sleep through the night. I originally had just one but found that the dominant male would prevent the juvenile from eating so it kind of defeated the purpose. With two, both cats essentially have their own feeder.It also comes in handy when I'll be gone all day and want my little babies to have a snack.In terms of accuracy, I will say that a side-by-side setting of the two timers will result in a different opening time. It isn't by much -- I would say around 0.5-1.0% of total time -- but it IS a difference. Not like that's critical to my use but it is something that someone somewhere might want.

It does mention how much DRY food the bowls contain, but wasn't until I opened the packaging and read the instructions did I notice in large type NO WET FOOD.Device looks really well made, but I returned mine as it was unsuitable for my needs.

I have two of these, they are great. Easy to set up and use, battery lasts forever, and it is the only model I've found that a) can feed two cats at once and b) that my disconcertingly smart cat has not been able to outwit. She figured out how to turn the dial on the manual type to open the trays so the digital interface which comes with a cover is a life saver.

Life changer as opens on the hour after setting, but on the hour. So set for 8 hours and opens then. Not 7.5hours, etc... it’s the best thing I’ve ever bought as the cat drove us nuts at 5:30 or 6am everyday. In one night she stopped as we set it at 10pm to open at 6am. Perfect. Strong spring and good weight.

Absolutely love this little auto feeder! I have had this auto feeder for months now and I cannot find any fault with it. This slick looking little unit is low profile and feels very steady on the ground. The design of it is absolutely cat proof! I had an analogue timer auto feeder before finding this unit, and this unit has none of the cons that the analogue timer auto feeder had.- the timer is very accurate and super easy to set. It was impossible to get the analogue timer to the exact time you want it to open, it was always "roughly around there" sort of thing. This unit opens exactly when you want it to open.- it is silent. None of those tick-tock sound that an analogue timer makes.- the batteries lasts longer in this unit than the analogue unit.- super reliable. The lid of the analogue unit got stuck a few times because the timer didn't quite make it to the "open" position when it stopped. I had to always prepare myself to come home to an angry cat just because the analogue unit was that unreliable. I don't have that problem at all with this unit.- totally cat proof! My cat had learned that if she bashes the analogue unit enough she would move the analogue timer and get the feeder to open sooner. I bought that auto feeder because I wanted to train my cat not to come and cry outside my room at 4am everyday. Well, she stopped coming to my door at 4am since I got the analogue feeder alright. But she started bashing the auto feeder every morning from 3:30am instead and that was even worse than her crying outside my room. She tried bashing this one too but got nowhere. She has since learnt to just wait it out and I can now sleep in peace again.

I have the older version of this with the crank dials which were highly inaccurate and hard to set so I'm very excited to try this newer version out.I use this for days where I know I will be gone longer than 8 hours and can give my Cats a meal without worry.My only complaint is that like 95% automatic feeders, the insert is plastic.this breeds bacteria and even the most well cleaned surfaces it remains in fine scratches from use.Learned this the hard way with my cats ....this bacteria will cause Feline Acne.it's too bad that Petsafe did not make a stainless steel bowl insert for these - so much more hygienic (thus only 1 star for ease to clean)But happily for this I found a work around using the ceramic bowls I normally use for feeding.with my older version they fit right inside and so seeing this new version with the digital timer took a chance.while this is a much cleaner streamlined version, so I was happy to find they fit this version too.I noticed another user commented on the click the latch makes when opening to be quite loud which did startle my cat, I imagine they will become accustomed to it and realize what it means they will wait with pricked ear for the magic CLICK that the food gate has opened :)I also will be using this for two cats to be fed at the same time. while there is a delay between doors, it's really only about 2 seconds so I don't foresee that being an issue.excited to try this one out

So this feeder works perfectly, it is easy to set up and opens on time every time but it is SUPER noisy and click-ey when it does. My dog is terrified of it to the point where she will not go near it. Once it opens it seems to have a back-up release mechanism that attempts to release the cover twice after the time you set it for, this mades a loud clicking noise right in your dog's face as it is eating. At least my dog jumps 3 ft in the air every time the thing clicks and is afraid to go close it for a good while. On a side note, I have never had the necessity of returning any of my Amazon orders and the ONE time I would like to return it as it is useless if my dog wont go near it the product is not eligible for return.
