Arrived DOA. Nothing passed through. No data, no power. Had to return. I bought to use cel phone in a car with android auto through cable and didn't want to overcharge the phone.

These block power from reaching whatever you have connected to USB. It just transports the data. So if you have something connected that needs power, this will cause it not to work. This is good for preventing noise transfer over USB especially in audio applications.

Kör Octopi / Octoprint med min Raspberry Pi till min 3D printer. Denna blockerar strömöverföring via USB vilket var exakt det jag var ute efter. Produkten skulle kunna vara ännu mindre i storlek, om man får önska något.

I got tired of using tape or 3d printing a 5v isolator and didn't want to rip apart a usb cable.Tested with a USB power meter connected to a phone and was unable to charge it, the power meter showed 0A. This tells you there is nothing suspicious about the adapter even though you can clearly see the PCB.

When my Nord Stage was plugged into my PC via USB, it would generate a hum through the PC speakers. After installing the USB power blocker between my Keyboad and USB port, it completely eliminated the hum!

PortaPow USB Power Blocker - Only Data, No PowerIt works great and keeps my printers from trying to run on USB 5v when they have no AC power. Precisely what I was looking for, tape and inserts would work temporarily but the second they needed to be moved it was a huge pain, this is hassle-free. Worth $10 CAD!

TL;DR: It doesn't work with iPhones or apple trackpads. Or pretty much any other self-powered device I have laying around.So, I use an Apple Trackpad with desktop computers - a mac and a pc. If I leave it plugged in via usb, it automatically switches with my KVM. If I don't, I have to manually pair it over bluetooth.After 2 years of being plugged in 24/7, my apple trackpad's battery got bloated, so I'll sadly have to dispose of that one or at least take it apart to get the battery out. We'll see how that goes. In the meantime, I really missed having a trackpad, so I bought another.And I bought this, in hopes that I could use it over USB without charging it. It only needs to be charged once every few weeks, after all!Sadly, without the power source, the trackpad doesn't detect the USB connection. :(So I guess.. 5 star review? I'm sore it doesn't work for my use case, and to be honest, I'm not sure it actually works at all because of that hahaha. Nothing I plugged in detects USB. That's worrisome. Try it anyway? It's only $6.50 and it's a nice little dongle.

Purchased to use when not charging my smartphone or other devices when not at home. This is especially important because many charging stations such as airports or internet cafes can be hacked. This lacks the data pins, i.e. only those for charging alone. Cyber authorities acknowledge that places such as airport stations are mostly compromised.
