Needed a gate that I could close off only to a certain degree and have held in that position. Short of an expensive ball valve, this works well.

Works as it should,. I used on dryer vent to keep animals out of house because vent is low to the ground.

These metal blast gates are way better than the plastic ones, but they still need a little work. I found the casting nubs were allowing air to slip by. So I took a large mill file to both halves which greatly improved the gate. Then there was no longer any perceivable air getting past. Once I did this to all four of my boat gates the dust collection system was working at its peak performance. I highly recommend these with the understanding you need to help clean them up just a bit to make them work their best.

Slides effort free no dust build up in slot. Decent price works lot better than plastic ones have used in past.
