After a not-that-easy installation, I discovered that this item was completed shorted out. NOW I notice that another reviewer had the exact same problem. I doubt that this item was ever even tested at the manufacturer (or refurb shop).

As a professional mechanic, I am very critical of online parts. This alternator is an exact match to the original. I installed it and tested it. I am more than satisfied. It is a very high quality product and a great value. Shipping was NEXT DAY and actually less than 24 hours. I had the old one off and compared them side by side. The installation took only minutes. The battery light went off immediately and I am very pleased.

The alternator seems of good quality, and looks nearly identical to the OEM one I replaced. It fit fine, and the electrical connections fit and work fine.My only caution is the way they packaged it. It was shipped in the box it came in from the factory, with a label stuck on...... not packed in a shipping box. It had knocked around during shipment and damaged the box. Much more and the box would have ripped open. I could not see any damage to the alternator, but this is a very poor show. I order from Amazon frequently and this is becoming an issue with things shipped by Amazon the last few months as well. They really need to pack thing better. Hence the 4 stars here.

Arrived damaged (dent in back of unit which then hit wiring and caused short). Finally got around to installing and discovered short when 120a fuse blew. Had to take to shop to get repaired because I didn't see the damage. Once rapired worked fine.

Was an easy swap. Part is as described and is identical to my OEM Alternator. This was installed on my 2002 Toyota 4Runner 3.4L V6.

The red battery light went on after 130,000 miles. Replaced the factory alternator with this one. I’m no mechanic and it took me 2 hours with just a socket wrench and breaker bar (breaker bar was to hold up tensioner wheel, releasing the belt). Not a hard install. Works great and battery light went off. Saved 100 bucks (no core charge). Couldn’t find an alternator for under 200 at any auto place. Fair price and fits my 2001 Toyota 4Runner V6 w/supercharger.
