It's not finished in aluminium but a gray paint. The Amazon photo is very bright to make it look like aluminium. I received the product just over 2 weeks with my Prime order from the Amazon.com.ca (to western Canada). The parts where the screws fasten the hardware to the window are now metal instead of plastic and the screw heads are Philips (cross) instead of Roberston (square).And you must be sure of the measurement between the 2 screws of each mounting bracket because apparently the measurements are just slightly wider apart than my existing measurements.

Had to replace several casement locks at our condo. Our local HD and Lowe's did not have this particular product. It is great to know that you can find most items at Amazon and receive it within 2 days with prime shipping. DH installed them and works like a charm. They were better than the ones DH replaced.
