To be honest I bought these despite the bad reviews because they were about a fourth of the price of the others of this type in this finish. I was pleasantly surprised when they arrived. They appear to be well made and sturdy and the finish is consistent and unblemished.

Good latch, but the center pin that the latch constantly rotates on has become “wiggly” after two months or so of use. Latch is on a kitchen garbage pullout so it gets daily use. I used different screws to mount it because the screws that came with it stripped out (all of them) when I was installing it. Time will tell on durability.

I redid the hardware on my patio doors. I needed these for the side windows. There were not a lot of options in brushed or satin nickel. One seller wanted 8X and they were smaller. My application calls for 2 on each window and there’s a dead bolt too. One by itself would not offer much security.

I replaced the old hardware in my casement windows with these latches and they worked great. They are nicely made and look really nice.
