Depending on the design of your glovebox this latch may or may not fit without modiifications. In my case I used this latch to replace a broken one on my boat's glove compartment. I had to enlarge the mounting hole a tiny bit for this latch to fit. Once fitted I had a problem with the strike plate, the latch was a bit too high on the door of the glovebox so it did not clear the strike plate. I had to cut the plate shorter so that the door can close. After the mods it now works fine.CONS:- No mounting screws for the strike plate comes with the package. Lucky enough I had two sets of small nuts and bolts that did the job perfectly. If you don't happen to have'em you've gotta purchase'em- The two latches are keyed alike so they can open each other. Keeps me wondering if all latches sold by this vendor have the same key.- The lock can easily be defeated by just turning it inside it's hole. This is made easy by the pull tab. Provided lock washer is only effective to prevent loosening from vibrations.DURABILITY: To be seen over time... Certainly nice to have a second one as a spare...CONCLUSION:It does the job (once fitted properly) of holding the glovebox door in place, but if you expect security from a lockable latch, you won't find it here. The lock is only good to keep your young kid's curious hands at bay.

Pay attention to the dimensions before purchasing. I found them perfect for my project, but the strike plate latch reach distance may cause problems for some.

The plastic thumb pull portion is smaller than the oem Yamaha Road Star bag latch but they are a direct fit replacement for the Road Star oem hard bags.

I lost the keys to my saddlebags for my Harley Davidson softail deluxe bags. Harley wanted 90 dollars shipped for new locks. These locks fit perfect and appear to be better quality. They are exactly the same locks. And as a added bonus the keys that came with the new locks actually fit the Harley locks and opened them. I swapped the locks before I checked to see if the key would work on my old locks and they did. Do not hesitate buy these!! I couldn’t be happier
