It works perfect, I couldn't be happier. The after market remote start for our Fusion can kill my battery in 3 days in winter, so I spent the past year popping the hood to disconnect the negative terminal after each drive. (We only take the car out once a week at most.) That of course meant reconnecting before each trip. No more!!!! I just use the remote for the battery to the turn battery off and on. When I want to go somewhere, I turn the remote on, hit the remote engine start, and the engine comes to life. It is such a joy. Installation is a breeze, the instructions being reasonably clear. My only complaint is that none of the screw or nuts or bolts are the same size. Be prepared for four or five tools. Even so, assembly and installation took 20 minutes at most. If you have the right size tools, it could be half that. I definitely recommend you buy this product. Just remember newer cars may loose certain necessary memory functions when you turn off the battery. My Fusion is from 2010, so this is not a problem.

It took me 15 minutes to install and it worked like a charm. I highly recommend this product to cut off your battery when you’re away from home so you don’t come home to a dead battery.

Purchased this to disconnect the battery when my collector MGB is parked long term. The remote control works great, no more fear of a dead battery from parasitic drain. Highly recommended.

Mech said it would cost at least $100 to identify the leak that was drawing down the battery on our old Jeep, and it might cost hundreds more to actually fix it.This did the job, and it took about five minutes to install. Works perfectly. BONUS: adds a level of security!

This was installed on my 2011 Ford F150, 5.0l.It is a straight forward installation which takes roughly ten minutes to do if you're taking your time and looking for your 13mm, 10mm and 8mm sockets for installation. If you have your stuff together, this will only take 2 minutes to install. My concerns going forward during the next few days are:1) This device says it is good for 4.0l engines and smaller. My engine is bigger. Will this be an issue in regards to high amp draws like when the starter is engaged?2) In winter, the battery can provide up to 1100 amps. Will this device be able to survive that kind of electron load being pushed through it?3) The remote is a generic cookie cutter fob. Will it stand up to pocket use? how good is it with batteries? Will it fall apart sooner rather than later? If it falls apart, can I purchase another and program it to work with the battery switch?I will be updating my review as time goes on if I experience any issues.Right now, we're starting with 5 out of 5 stars because it's working precisely as designed.

Not impressed. This is clearly used. Box not sealed and torn. Battery post has wear marks on it so it's been installed. Looks like someone used pliers to tighten the battery clamp. Greasy fingermarks all over the little, teeny, weeny instruction sheet. Nevertheless, I took it out to the garage and tested it. Put the negative clamp on the negative terminal of the battery. Connected the flying positive lead to the positive terminal. Tried both remotes, NOTHING. It should not need a load connected to the positive lug to activate the relay within the box. Tried an ammeter on the flying lead to the + terminal. It draws NO current. Not even a few microamps. It needs to draw SOME current to power the receiver for the remotes. It's possible the first recipient hooked it up incorrectly and blew it up. But I'm not taking a chance on a second one.Description says it's just a simple switch. There are two "pages" (3¼" x 2½") of instructions in about 4 point text (I had to use a really good magnifying glass to read them) about resetting, setting reset, clearing codes, setting codes, setting switch mode, lock mode, Delay mode, working mode, transient mode..."After pressing the receivers learning button eight times the receiver clears all data from memory". "When the LED flicker of thereciver is over the reset is complete". (Not a typo)OK. The key fobs are TRANSMITTERS.The control box is the RECEIVER.Instructions show a diagram called "Control Board" with 3 things labelled. Antenna. Indicator light. Learn to Push Buttons.NONE of these are on the remotes or the control module. Unless you're supposed to open up the module and I'm not doing that. There is no "learn" button or LED visible on the outside of the module. So, either these are the wrong instructions or this isn't the right item. Having said that, the hookup diagrams on the back of the instruction sheet DO match the module in the box.Not worth the aggravation. Sending back and buying a simple $9 on off switch that's fully manual. This SOUNDED great from the description but turned out to be a big waste of time.

I had a problem with parasitic drain on my battery on my Dodge Journey. My friend is a mechanic who works for Mercedes Benz and he couldn't find the problem so he suggested a battery kill switch. He installed it and it works great. The main problem I found is that the instructions weren't really clear. My friend, a mechanic figured it out quickly, but again, the instructions are obviously translated to english, so a bit difficult. Also, it was a tough install since the actual battery is just above the wheel well and out of site on the Journey. This unit comes with 2 remotes, a real bonus, but the instructions show 3 different ways they can be programmed to operate. I found that very confusing and unnecessary. The good thing, is that they come programmed so no need to reprogram. Press 'OFF' and the battery disconnects. Press 'ON' and the battery connects. Easy Peasy. The added bonus is that this unit can be used as a battery kill switch to protect your vehicle from being stolen because when activated, the car will not start. The only CON to this is that when you disconnect the battery, you lose the time on the clock. I can live with that. The radio stations remain intact, which is good.
