These are a godsend, although pricey, if you need to wire up 9 pin D connectors. I needed some for a project I'm building in my home business and they sure save a lot of time vs solder connectors. Not one wire has pulled out & that's a good thing. Getting the cable clamp to fit is a bit of a trick.

looks like a decent plug, needed the screws for this to attach to my other cable, but they were missing. ended up running to a computer shop to get the connector

SHANFEILU DB9 Breakout Connector to Wiring Solderless Terminal RS232 D-SUB Female Serial ….This is a DB9 Female with terminal block connector on the inside. There are long bolts for securing, and it includes 3 sizes of rubber strain relief, a screw down securing clamp and a terminal screwdriver.Each terminal is clearly numbered on both sides of the board and the block connectors have rising clamp screw terminals which is far better than just the screw down type. All pins are connected including the shell of the DB9.Very convenient to have, saves having to get the soldering iron out.

This DB9 serial plug is very easy to wire up and then just as easy to modify your connections of required.The package includes 3 sizes of cable grommets to allow different cable diameters, with a strain relief. As well it includes thumb screws to engage the plug into a serial port.They even include a little slot-head screwdriver.The enclosure is fairly large and could have trouble fitting into a tight space, but I'm using these for test cable purposes so it hasn't been an issue for me.If you're tired of soldering and re-soldering your serial cables, just get these. Good deal!

This has been designed for the (very) obsolete DB9 standard.Personally I plan to use it with Arduino-based electronics projects. Because it has 9 pins, this will be useful as a port to connect to a separate SPI display (8 pins necessary), for example.The port can be used without the enclosure. The pcb appears to be dual layer, the visible traces are clean as are the solder joints. I like the little screw terminals... convenient.The plastic enclosure is decent. It comes with a piece to keep the wires securely clamped, along with the two screws to do so, so as not to have the wires pulled out of the terminals. There are also three differently-sized cable strain relief pass-throughs provided to avoid wire breakage where they exit the enclosure. Finally, two long bolts are provided to ensure that the port is secured to the enclosure.A small screwdriver is included; useful for opening the enclosure and adjusting the screw terminals.Good product. 5 stars.
