It is as described and fits the Nikon 50-250 well. The only criticism would be that the bayonet locking isn’t as snappy and tight as I am used to, but I’m not using it as a carabiner climbing a mountain, so it’ll do.**UPDATE**The locking is absolutely perfect. Turns out I wasn’t twisting quite hard enough to properly engage the lock.

Ordered this on Jan 2nd and expected it between Jan 22nd to mid Feb. It arrived on Jan 8th via Canada Post in excellent condition. I would buy it again, however I expect not to have to replace it.

Cheap, works well with the kit lens. You can fit a filter and the cap on. 5/5 as it does what it says, what more can you ask for?!

The silver color is darker than the lens' finish. It is a simple plastic hood and it works. However, it feels cheap when you hold it.

This is a well made product, made out of aluminum. I was expecting a plastic lens hood and was surprised to receive a machined aluminum unit. The wall thickness is more than adequate so it will not be dented on bent easily. On do downside, this sturdy construction make it a bit heavy.

I ordered this for my 16-50mm Kit lens on my Nikon Z50 camera. The lens on its own has a 3mm flange of plastic surrounding the glass. With this hood, you gain about 13mm of extra protection from unwanted light striking directly on the lens or from anything brushing against the glass. Not a lot compared to a full tulip hood but still helpful. The hoods' exterior dimensions are the same as the actual lens so it doesn't look out of place and it makes the lens appear properly finished. I tend to not like the looks of a lens with the cap sticking out. Now, when the lens cap is on, it's receded within the hood so it cleans up the appearance while making it harder to accidentally dislodge the protective cap.
