I bought this for my outdoor grill. I soak the wood chips and then put them in this box and place it under the grill part and on top of the burner. Used Mesquite and cooked Filet Mignon Steaks. WOW! I love this.May not last more than a year or two, I would guess. But it is decent quality and fits what I was wanting.I recommend it!

I use this in my bbq with smoker pellets. It does a good job at adding a nice flavour of smoke to any meat on the grill. Seems good quality and would recommend

The heat will warp it but it does return to shape when it cools. It will immediately become discolored on first use, but it doesn’t affect the burn.Didn’t find I got enough smoke

This is perfect for adding a layer of smoke to our BBQ! We have a smoker, but find we only use it for big portions of meat, so we wanted something we could add some chips to and still get a smoke flavour in our smaller meals when it's just the two of us! The box appears to be good quality stainless, opens and closes smoothly and is the perfect size! It hold enough chips to provide enough smoke flavour, and it fits perfectly under our grate - not too tall! Very excited to use this & will update my review if we come across any challenges!

I tried it twice so far, once with wood chips and once with smoker pellets. They both made a lot of smoke for a long time. The problem is that it will not start smoking at normal bbq temperature. You have to put the bbq on maximum fire until very hot to start the smoke. Then you wait a long time before the temperature drops to suitable levels for cooking. The question is, is the incremental flavour benefit worth the extra time?Maybe speed up smoke ignition by adding some accelerant and lighting with a match? Or with a propane torch? Still experimenting…

This turns my regular grill into a smoker. Easy way to add flavor of smoke to food without investing in a smoker. Good for people with limited outdoor space.

This turns your regular BBQ into a smoker. A great tool if you want to add that smoke flavour when you are grilling a steak or burger - or do a slow cook/smoke. Our first use we just wanted to try to use it while grilling steaks. We filled it too much and had soaked the wood chips really well. We had to empty it a bit and TADA! It started to provide that smoke effect. So if you are wanting to use it for day to day smoking, don't fill it too much. If you plan to use it for a slow cook/smoke, fill as indicated. Sure beats buying a smoker that costs hundreds of dollars and the added cost of pellets.
