How to connect and use AO300?
SMSL AO300 is a multi-functional device that integrates DAC, headphone amplifier and power amplifier. It can realize different functions through different connection methods. Here are some of the main input and output methods and their functions:
- As DAC & amplifier: Connect to source devices via USB/Bluetooth/Optical/Coaxial/HDMI ARC input, connect to subwoofer via SW output, or connect passive speakers via speaker output.
- As DAC & headphone amplifier: Connect to source devices via USB/Bluetooth/Optical/Coaxial HDMI ARC input and connect to headphones via 6.35mm/4.4mm headphone output.
- As an amplifier: Connect to your device's RCA outputs via the AUX input, to a subwoofer via the SW output, or to passive speakers via the speaker output.

Flawless and powerful sound from such a tiny footprint. Really, really impressed. Only knock is that the instruction manual is not useful, but once you figure out that holding the knob on the front takes you up the menu and even turns off the unit without a remote, then it is almost a perfect little machine.

I bought this after reading quite a few favourable reviews and after trying a very cheap digital amplifier and being quite impressed. The AO300 is an attractive little amp and sounds excellent with plenty of detail and space in recordings. Bass is what I'd call dry and firm so my speakers don't boom with excessive bass in the room I have them in yet still have plenty of power and definition. The treble can at times be a bit bright with certain recordings but on good recordings the sound is excellent. But that was the same on my analogue amp. I'm just starting to dabble with the various filters and settings to see what this is capable of. Plenty of power when you need it without distortion unless you go to silly levels but I think you'd physically be in trouble at the 85 watts rms / 8 ohms that the AO300 is capable of. It seems well made and solid with no sign of sockets moving etc. At the moment I have a turntable with preamp into analogue, cd player into digital and server into the usb all with no problems. The banana plugs for the speakers fit snugly as well. I needed to get a longer mains lead as the one supplied wasn't long enough for my eventual use. A minor niggle that might not bother most users. All in all a great little amp that delivers everything you might want at a low price. Just have to download the manual now as the small booklet is more a get you started type. If you like the digital sound then you shouldn't be disappointed with the AO300. If you're not sure then just give it a try against an analogue amplifier. You may prefer analogue but you may be pleasantly surprised with digital.

I'm in touch with their support but this DAC has issues when used with headphones. Small amounts of electrostatic discharge through the headphones -- small enough not to feel a shock -- can cause the unit to reset briefly. If you're using this while wearing headphones in a carpeted environment, just be aware. I've verified I'm not the only other customer with this problem. It's possible that an updated firmware may fix this but I have yet to hear about a fix. Otherwise, this would be a 5 star review.

No matter what I tried- different source inputs, speakers, filters or equalizer settings- the audio was always very harsh and raspy sounding to me! I do not recommend this device.

Acquis dans l'optique de remplacer mon vieux tube et de lui adjoindre une platine vinyle, j'ai été agréablement surpris par la facilité de mise en œuvre du AO300.Belle image stéréophonique, incisif, dynamique, un aigu maitrisé mais un médium à mon gout trop en avant. Les basses sont bien restituées avec une bonne tenue même à fort volume. (EQ "direct").Oui mais voilà que justement à fort volume avec mon lecteur cd branché en coaxial des coupures interviennent à intervalles réguliers. Je n'ai pas rencontré de soucis en RCA. La restitution en bluetooth est à mon avis pas assez dynamique et semble être comme étouffée.Le produit est de bonne facture, très bien fini, ergonomique, connectique pertinente, mais malheureusement pas assez convainquant face à mon ampli "papy" tube qui fait de la résistance.

If you need an all in one unit than this is the amp for you. It does everything well for the price. Good build quality, good headphone output, plenty of power. The dac is decent. Remote works well. Different filters were nice to try and do make a difference. The problem for me is how digital and analytical this amp sounds. Despite having warm sounding speakers, I can still pick up on the common digital glare of these type of class d amps. It sucks the life out of my music. If you're unbothered by the sound signature of these digital amplifiers than I highly recommend the ao300. If you you're looking for the best possible sound and already own a separate dac and headphone amp than I would suggest the aiyima a70. Its a superior amp and much more musical. I would actually take the t9pro over the ao300 as well for musical enjoyment. The ao300 has more power, better dac, better headphone section. But the t9pro for me was more enjoyable when listening to music.

（追記）ファームウェアアップデートについて。アップデータ本体しかなく、手順の説明がないので書きます。実行される方は自己責任でお願いいたします。公式サイトでAO300VOA1.ZIPをダウンロードして解凍。USB接続して本機を電源スタンバイ状態に。その後アップデートプログラムを起動します。エラーメッセージが出た場合、無視してOKを押しプルダウンメニューからUSB-SERIAL CH340（COM※）を選択（※は環境によって番号が変わる）。upgradeをクリック。何も進捗しない場合、リモコンのinput select（○の中に↓のボタン）を押すとアップデートが行われ、successが表示されれば完了です。何が変わったかというと電源ON時のポップノイズが無くなりました！電源off時はちょっとだけあります。他は特に変わったところなし。コンパクトで廉価なオールインワン系のアンプが好きです。かなりいい線行っている物もあったのですが、単体の物に比べると対応BTコーデックがSBC止まり、筺体が穴だらけで埃が溜まりそう、DACがDSD非対応、非力等々物足りなさを感じていました。そんな中リリースされた本機は電源内蔵、リモコン、それなりのパワー、LDAC対応、定評あるDACチップ、まともそうなヘッドホンアンプ、自分はあまり使わなそうですがHDMI ARC及びSBOUTまで付く充実っぷりに惹かれます。同メーカーのAL200も持ってますが気に入った方を残せばいいやと購入しました。AL200との比較・背面に電源スイッチがあるのと使いやすいディスプレイがあるのがプラスポイントAL200は表示がシンプル過ぎてわかりにくいのですが、AO300は見やすい表示です。どこかで見たことがあるUIだと思ったら、グループ会社の製品のLOXJIE A30と同じ物でした。表示色を変更出来たり自動画面オフがあったり中々使い勝手がよろしい。リモコンのミュートボタンが戻るボタンとして機能します。・ヘッドホンアンプは実用性充分両機共に300ΩのHD650で十二分に音量がとれます。歪み感のないクリーンな音。スピーカー出力との切り替えはメニューからなのでやや手間です。・発熱その他どちらもそう熱くなりませんが、高さに余裕のあるAO300のほうが若干低い気がします。ポップノイズは気になりませんでした→いやそこそこあるかも→アップデートで解消しました。MCUのブートシーケンスのバグ取り？・音質（USB入力、スピーカーKEF R100）同じような物かと思ってましたが私の耳には違って聞こえました。SPLメーターで大雑把に音量を揃えての比較だと、AL200は中低域のボリュームがそれなりにあり、高域はやや優しげで聞き心地が良い感じがします。反面タイト感や繊細さはそこそこ。AO300は低域はスリムですがビシッと引き締まり、分解能の高さを感じます。中高域はとても抜けがよく爽やか。それでいてキンキンしない。スピーカーの相性はもちろんあるでしょうが、素人の率直な感想です。使用部品はほぼ変わらなそうなのに不思議な感じがしました。・BTなぜか表示がAACになりますが、スマホ側で確認するとちゃんとLDACで繋がってます。AO200やAL200などのSBCと比べるとワンランク上のクオリティに聞こえます。・曲の頭切れやプチノイズなど環境によると思いますが当方では問題ありません。もし気になるのであればxmos driver settings for no cutoff/delayで検索すると出てくるaudio science reviewの記事を参考に設定して見てください。様々な機種で改善されたとの声をききます。・まとめいまのところとても好感触です。シンプル多機能高音質でデスクトップもすっきりして満足。他に望むとすればTOPPING MX5のように入力信号による自動ウェイクアップ、スタンバイがあれば完璧だったと思います。HDMI ARCやSBOUTについてはそのうち試してから追記しようと思います。

Jest to mój pierwszy wzmacniacz tego typu i nie mam porównania.Gra pięknie, plus mnustwo ustawień dźwięku do własnych preferencji.Transmisja bluetooth LDAC na najwyszych ustawieniach rewelacja.

To jest naprawdę kawał fajnego wzmacniacza który posiada wiele ciekawych rozwiązań. O zaletach i jakości dźwięku można poczytać w internecie więc skupię się na minusach które zauważyłem1)wyświetlacz - to nie jest piękny ekran oled jak przedstawiają na renderach. W rzeczywistości jest to najtańszy podświetlany ekranik LCD (bez możliwości regulacji mocy podświetlenia - co jest w sumie dziwne ). Wygląda to ogólnie mówiąc średnio - chciało by się mieć coś lepszego. Na szczęście można ustawić auto- wyłączenie ekranu.2)wejście HDMI ARC nie jest całkowicie wyłączane przy zmianie źródła na inne. Jest to uciążliwe w sytuacji kiedy jedna osoba chce oglądać TV a druga chce np. posłuchać muzyki ze wzmacniacza na słuchawkach bo TV cały czas wymusza zestaw audio ( przy włączonym wzmacniaczu). Rozwiązaniem jest wyciągniecie kabla HDMI z wzmacniacza - ale chyba nie o to chodzi. Wolałbym żeby wejście HDMI ARC zostało całkowicie wyłączone przy zmianie źródła . To są drobne choć irytujące dla mnie rzeczy które fanie było by poprawić w kolejnych rewizjach. Trzymam kciuki bo firma idzie w dobrym kierunku.
