Easy installation, Worked great out of the box with just a minor low speed adjustment. Good Instructions.I used my old switch cover and not the new cover provided with the controller. Works great!

I have a heavy duty 36" ventilation fan that I'm in the process of restoring, and I'm replacing most of the parts. I was originally just going to buy a new one, but these fans are surprisingly pricey ($399!). This is a nice high quality switch that fits well on the body of the fan to replace the old one. It seems very durable, and I don't anticipate having any problems with it. If I have to use these in the future, I'll buy this brand.

I swapped out the switch for this speed controller leaving all the other wiring the same and it worked well. The control has a positive snap action to turn it on and then you can throttle it down as you turn clockwise so the motor has the chance to properly start.I like the fact you can adjust the minimum speed but the dial requires a precision Phillip driver to adjust. Unfortunately did not come with any wirenuts or screws to attach the device to the outlet box. Something I would have expected for a product like this. Also the faceplate is aluminum so I suggest hitting it with some clear laquer so its easy to wipe down without damage.

Varying the speed of a rock tumbler based on the type and amount of rocks within can be a big time saver. Wiring it to control the motor RPM was simple, and a little turn of the dial to select the desired speed makes all the difference in the world.I have had similar controllers in the past. They all generate some heat, and I believe that is what eventually leads to their end. So I think it is important to provide as much exposure to moving air as possible.A fairly typical speed controller in construction and in cost. It has served it's function very well so far and I can recommend it's purchase.
